  1. Interestingly, I have run into some couples who I believe "over-communicate." They talk so much about their relationship, where it's going , is everything ok, are you ok, I'm ok if you're ok, etc., they just end up beating it to death and forgetting to live. Also in the same vein some couples tell each other every little thing they do (report back to each other all the time) and don't spare the other person details that really are not necessary, are hurtful, etc. I guess what I'm trying to say is while I think communication is important, it IS possible to overdo it... My BF and I don't communicate all that much on the subject of "our relationship", maybe that's just because we are in college... I guess one thing I THINK is a big cause of break ups is A LACK OF SPACE. One person suffocates the other. To me, overcommunication can spur this... You have to love your partner enough to let him or her live his or her life. And not everything he or she does has to include you all the time...

    Skip it?

We already use condoms every time, along with me taking the pill. We are kind of OCD... after one pregnancy scare, we never went back!

    Skip it?

Sooo.. My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship because of college. We have three weeks to spend together for Christmas... and I really don't want to be bleeding for one of them!! I've done the research, and I can't really come to any conclusions as there are arguments for both sides... is it safe to skip the placebo pills and start right into the active pills, just this once? Thanks.
  4. As expected, everything is fine. The minute I stopped freaking out, there it was... go figure thanks for all the help
  5. Thank you. I promise I will keep you guys updated. I appreciate your speedy responses so much.
  6. Woo! Thanks Hope, that's a relief to hear it can move days a little bit. I know I shouldn't be nervous - I sit here thinking, if it doesn't work for someone as careful as me, who the heck does it work for?
  7. This has been a weird month! My boyfriend gave me a yeast infection (??? he got it from a lake) which resulted in a rash. We thought it was herpes but we were each other's firsts so that seemed impossible. Now we are on the pill and use condoms EVERY - TIME. I know, kinda crazy. This month we had our first condom malfunction ever... he came, pulled out and oops, the condom wasn't there. I am PSYCHO about my pill - I take it at 7:30 every day without failure, has been that way for 8 months. That's why I get my period on the same Tuesday every month, like clockwork. Today is that Tuesday... so where's my period?? I feel crampy, emotional and the whole nine yards, I even have the very thick discharge that usually signals the beginning of my period on the pill, but here it is nighttime and I don't think I've ever gotten it this late. It doesn't help that I'm going off to college on Thursday - lots of stress. Is there a chance that this stress, that yeast infection or the fact that I have been traveling is affecting my period, even though im on the pill?? I should be completely fine, right? HELP.
  8. Ok thanks so much for the advice. We as a couple are as careful as careful can be and I STILL have these little doubts once in a while - I can't imagine how women who don't want to get pregnant sleep at night without being so protected!!
  9. A week from Tuesday. The pill has made my period incredibly regular so this would be too early for it to be PMS. I don't know if this might be gas or something - it's weird. I can't imagine, on top of everything else, that this could be a symptom of pregnancy so early!
  10. Thank you, that's reassuring. What do you think about this abdominal pain? Could that be irritation or something?

    Confused?

Just a question: isn't it true that when taking birth control it is ok to miss a period sugar pill? I am meticulous about my pills and have never missed, except once and it was one of the placebo pills. I didn't even think about it becuase I could swear I remember my doctor saying they are just there to maintain the habit & give you extra iron. I guess lately I've been having second thoughts because I've been having more sex than I did before. I'm also wondering - the other night my boyfriend (who uses condoms every time & checks them all) and I had sex four different times and today I feel almost crampy in the uterus area, almost like a period. Could that be because I'm relatively new to sex? I know with all these precautions it's nearly impossibele to get pregnant. I'm just really confused! Thansks in advance
  12. I too just started having sex a few months ago, my boyfriend and I were both virgins. He can get me ALL THE TIME with oral and touching, but we've had sex lots of times and I just can't orgasm either. Like all the other women are saying, I guess it takes practice. Whatever you do don't make her feel any stress - one time my boyfriend was just playing around and said "Girl you are taking forever!" and honestly I think that has contributed to my inability as of now
  13. Thanks, passions, for that thorough answer. The thing is though, I have not MISSED a pill - just merely started taking it one hour later to compensate for daylights savings time. Since i AM on a combined pill, does this mean I am just fine? Thanks a lot
  14. hahha oh god, so if my boyfriend can cum 3 times in about an hour, maybe hour and a half, is he getting off all the time? I've never asked him that.
  15. Wow guys, thanks for replying so fast. You are all so helpful!! I am on Ortho-TricyclenLo. Is this a mini pill?? Anybody know what my window is for this particular pill? I don't plan on messing it up in the future, I'd just like to know for reference's sake. Haha I know I'm overly cautious, but hey, it pays off when I stay preg-free at least till I'm married & such!! =)
