  1. Of course I had to try a shooting range as I like to embrace the local culture. Playing with the new vlog camera although I am not in the mood to make a proper video. I still haven't recuperated completely so my energy levels are quite low in general. This new camera is quite nifty but it draws a lot of attention. Despite being very small it looks a bit of a James Bond gadget so people naturally are curious. Problem is some people don't like being filmed and I am hesitant to use it downtown with so many shady guys. This is midtown. I also visited bro's office in the uni. Older students were giving tours to prospective students and parents so I thought a virtual tour of the campus might be useful for some. Who knows.
  2. And I thought my post couldn't be misconstrued...apparently everything can.
  3. The opinions here sway from one extreme to the other. From the Leonardo DiCaprio type to the blind "I only care about you inner beauty" type. Both are extremes with the latter being more laughable.
  4. How dare she? We all know the prime age is 80. As they say an 80 years old is like 4 20 years old.
  5. There was no "oppression" at least not more than today. My grandmothers, two women with completely different backgrounds and from different countries never even used this kind of language. What people think? that men back then just gave orders to women like they were slaves? Jeez. Society in general was more oppressive. Being divorced wasn't perceived as good apparently those days. Things like these were oppressive, it wasn't about genders, it was more about societal norms. We just have different norms nowadays, maybe as oppressive as the old ones in a different way. We don't fully realize it because we live based on them. There is oppression when there is abuse in a household. There are plenty of abusive households nowadays too. Many. And people actually got together younger and had more kids because it was necessary to survive which is completely different with how things are now. One could claim that having no choice is actually better than having plenty of choices and not do anything constructive. This is another discussion.
  6. There is a bug on the website, it kicks me off my account when I try to access the main page.... I still can't sleep the normal hours due to the time difference, it takes a few days. That means my energy levels are not the best. Plus, I was sick for a month and I am still not 100% back, it took a toll on me. The weather is strange, in the morning it's super cold but later it's like summer, the temperature fluctuates a lot during the day. I do like Atlanta, it's my second time so I feel a lot more comfortable this time. I like the South. I could easily live in the South, it fits me. The dating apps go crazy here, I forgot about it. I am like wow relax people. The complete opposite from Greece for me. Land of opportunities indeed hahahaha.
  7. Usually either I don't eat at all or eat what they offer on the plane if it's a long flight. Bringing your own snacks is always the best.
  8. I understand it's the JFK but jeez 7 dollars for a bag of chips, the cheapest junk snack on earth...being a millionaire in NY doesn't mean much with those prices.
  9. Good thing: I am on the gate Bad thing: I have one stop to NY and it's rainy in Atlanta....jeez...hope the weather will get better once I am there. Amazing thing: just accumulated 4000 watch hours on YouTube and I can start monetizing the ads. This is a milestone. I don’t think I will make any serious money but I am proud. One and a half years of work.
  10. I went on a second date with the girl on Tinder. It went better this time at least in terms of the flow of the conversation. She is extremely smart. I give her that. Still I don't feel sexual attraction towards her. We kissed but still nothing. She said "so you are going to invite me to your house once you are back from the US??" and I replied with a hesitant yes. She was surprised. I didn't expect for her to be so direct when she didn't want to engage in any naughty conversations before and she caught me by surprise. For me to not be excited about sex is a first.
  11. So now they want to revert back to the old code. The code I worked on for 3 months goes down the toilet. Yes it fixed some issues but new arose. I did what I was told. I coded the business logic the analyst gave me. Nothing more nothing less. I am not surprised at all. I have seen the movie 1 million times before. No proper brainstorming and clearly defined solutions. It's like filling holes in a building with plasterboard until the building collapses. I have learned not to care anymore. I do what I am told. Over the years I have learned not to take any initiative. It backfires in the corporate world. Nope nope nope. Stupid me, a few years back I still wanted to excel (and I did) and I still thought it's getting acknowledged. Thank God, I have finally learned the game. You don't make more money by being the best you can be. At best you get a pat on the back for performing well, at worst they found a victim to do all the work. What you have to do is to learn the technologies that companies need. Simple old logic, the greater the need the more they are willing to pay. No talent required. No need to excel. Nope. Just play the game right.
  12. You have to write a book for your own sake, not only to try to make money. You got the talent but you have never used it. It's a pity. You don't want to grow old having regrets about it.
