  1. I think we've all done it at some point! Anyway she's only got 1 online profile and it is now firmly set to 'private'. We've had chats in the past and he does seem to open up a lot once the conversation gets going. I've suggested counselling to him before as I had it and know the benefits first hand but he does not seem keen. I think direct action is the only way to do this. Thanks for all your help!
  2. Sounds like you are in fact trying too hard and worrying about what might go wrong. You need to relax and stop putting presure on yourself to do better. Its not easy but try to enjoy what you are doing right.
  3. Hi My good friend and house mate split up with his long term girl friend about a year and a half ago and is still having problems getting over her. She has since moved away, got a new job and a new boyfriend. She has also said under explicit terms that she wants no contact with him, email, text, phone, whatever. It has come to our attention that he's been cyber stalking her (not so bad) but also purposfully driving around her house. His ex is actually becoming worried because of his scary behaviour. How can i go about bringing this up with him and letting him know he's going to end up in court with a restraining order?? Thanks for any help.
  4. I think that sounds like the best advice - and yet so obvious! I must admit that I am not great at being blunt especially when someone might be hurt by it although in the long run it should hurt her less. I don't like being a bad guy! Thanks anyways!
  5. Hi During the summer I met a girl who seemed to be quite interested in me. unfortunately I was still recovering from my previous relationship and to be frank she just isn't "my type". She has asked me on several occaisons if we could become more but I always answer No. She gets very upset and quite aggitated at this. Afterwards though she always says that it would be nice if we could still be friends which I don't have a problem with, she isn't a bad person. The problem is though it seems that every few months she will ask me out again. Also she is always questioning me if she knows I have been talking to other girls and gets quite irrate because aparently I "never message her or organise to go places with her - it's always her that has to do it". Now on the occaison that I DO organise something I get this feeling that she gets excited that I'm actually falling for her - only to be turned down again. To be honest and without sounding too selfish - she's starting to get to me and I could do without this in my life. She obvioulsy can't just be friends with me and when/if I find a girl who is my type she is going to be distraught. How can I gently and painlessly get her to leave me alone?? I'm not a rude guy but fear that rudeness/ignoring might be the only way. Any help would be much appreciated!!
  6. hi I'll try and keep this short and to the point. I went out with a girl for 15 months and we split up because we were going nowhere together. We started NC and we haven't spoken for about 5 months, we do live very close so it is impossible to never meet each other. We also share a few common interests and friends. My problem is if there is something on like tonight there was a gig with my friend's band playing and I knew she would be there so I didn't go. My friends seem to be getting a bit annoyed at me know - it has been an entire year. I'm still single and relativley happy now although it took me about 8 months to get to a point where I could say "I'm over her". She has a boyfriend and I'm terrified of seeing them incase I go back to how I used to feel. Am I being silly or should I just bite the bullet and go to the next gig/party/show? Thanks for any suggestions
  7. yeah it sounds like she maybe wants to take it a little slower. you cant force someone to do stuff like that. be sensitive and give her time. good luck
  8. youre doing everything right but it will still take time. keep yourself busy and try not to dwell. good luck!
  9. Hi, I've not posted on here for a while now and its cos I'm feeling pretty good! Well it looks like I'm falling for a great girl but she is not my type at all. This always happens to me I fall for girls who are so different from me and lead lifestyles that I either cannot get into or dont particulary like. On the other hand I have met a girl who is practically my clone but much better looking obviously! Shes great but I dont have any feelings for her - it's really annoying! Why does this happen? Is the old saying "opposites attract" really true?
  10. IMHO I'd say it was a little soon but maybe thats just me. I think the fact that you are questioning yourself over this is a sign that you aren't ready yet. I mean if you felt 100% ok and you did like this guy there would be no hesitation, right? Try giving yourself a bit more time and keep up the NC. Good luck!
  11. Hi. Well it has been almost 7 months and I'm still not over her. I'm keeping (almost) 100% NC but unfortunately at the weekend she was at a gig I went to. It was really quiet and she came and sat with us, she was being really nice and pretty flirty with me but I didnt secumb and felt fine. The next day tho.. woah I felt like we'd just broken up and I still feel it now. I think theres something wrong with me. Shouldn't I be over her by now or at least nearly there? It has never taken this long in the past. I'm thinking about going to see my councellor but am worried that she'll think this is too trivial and I'm just being pathetic. Can anyone give me some suggestions? This has been the worst year of my life so far and I fee like I'm getting old and getting nowhere.
  12. i think braces (on a girl) are hot! but then i'm strange like that
  13. Hi I'm needing some good advice here. My dad asked me to fix his computer and when I was on it I found LOADS of porn. Now I have no problem with porn, I look at it too but then again I'm a young single guy so I have an excuse! My dad sits on his computer for literally hours a day most of the time leaving my mum on her own doing something else. There is nothing wrong with their relationship either. My mum does complain about the amount of time he spends on the computer and I believe she doesn't have a clue what he looks at. He has tried to hide it away too. Also anytime I go into the computer room he'll minimise whatever he is doing. I find this quite disturbing and upsetting so: Should I do anything at all? Should I confront him about it? Should I tell my mum? Thanks for any help.
  14. yeah it very rarely works. i am friends with one of my ex's but I put this down to the fact that we had zero contact for 2 1/2 years and it was a short lived relationship. It is just a way to soften the blow of breaking up because usually it IS a drastic change in your life and lets face it no-one likes it. Ask yourself this: if you were friends with your ex and they were kissing someone else in front of you, how would you feel? A proper friend would not mind. Someone who isn't over their ex most certainly would!
  15. let her go. she is being very disrespectful towards you by treating you like this. you can do better. You obviously didnt mean a lot to her and instead of having the guts to dump you properly she just said you needed a break. Sorry to sound so harsh! Good luck.
