  1. I am a 26 yr old female living with and totally in love with a 51 year old man, and it works. We have been together off and on since I was 18 but...it didn't become serious until i almost lost him a year and a half ago, because i was scared. Believe it or not but i was the proverbial babysitter hahaha, but nothing started happening until way after his seperation from his wife. Being in an age-gap relationship takes a lot of hard work and if you are not commited then get out.You have to be emotionally strong and have a sense of humour when dealing with people who don't understand. We have our problems as most couples do, but we hardly fight, in fact, we get along better than most couples we are friends with. His kids which are living with us do not have a problem, and neither do our families(now). We don't consider ourselves strange or ab-normal. So to all those who are thinking about getting involved in this kind of relationship, ask if it is the right one for you. Are you strong enough to put up with some peoples ignorance, and in some cases your families?? Can you handle the basic differences between you two??? If you think you can then go for it . Age-gap relationships can be fulfilling and enriching and even if it doesn't work out being in one can open you up to new and different experiences that you might not have thought you could or world do in your life Good luck
