  1. 1. What is the most difficult problem you and you partner face in your relationship? Not taking each others feelings into consideration. Selfishness. Not openly talking about problems and letting them fester and build up. 2. Do communication differences get better with time? Yes. But, the topics become more serious and threaten the relationship moreso than arguments in the beginning phases. 3. What keeps your relationship going strong? Love. A desire to be with one another. Caring about the other person's feelings. Moreso just wanting to be with one another since it is more good than bad. Finding it difficult to imagine being without one another in the long term. 4. Any words of advice for someone wanting to maintain a healthy relationship? Be honest, but not picky or overly-analytical. Let it happen naturally. Don't force anything, but don't not try. Respect one another and strive for both partners to be happy and healthy and loved.
  2. Mist ~ You are like mist, a dizzy foggy glass Those warm nights that I feel are surreal, but not infinite Nothing we do is ever really infinite everlasting, the flavor savored for no more than now No more than a brief white speckle of now Then it floats away like shells in the wide and open sea I wave to it my sweet and sorry goodbye now see you soon now call you soon now goodbye again now I dip my hand through the cabinet reach down for the scotch and make sweet memories reappear with golden mist that never could replicate your laughter that could never replicate our love.
  3. Yo, this is hilarious. My favorite line is "And watch my nightmares explode with Fanfare", but everyone else prefers different ones! lol. Thank you for your sweet words. What poets do I read? I mainly do not read poetry actually, normally just prose (and I really do not like Kerouac's poetry...mainly his novels!) The best poetry I tend to find online by independent authors. But, I do enjoy the poetry of Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Sylvia Plath, Charles Bukowski, Ginsberg, and I love reading lyrics. I like lyrics by The Good Life, Bright Eyes, The Velvet Underground, and other lyrics-based bands. Mostly I read mainly whatever I find online. I read a lot of poetry at link removed
  4. Yeah haha. I think you hit the nail on the head! But, I think that there are still people who have unique experiences that perhaps may induce the shock factor.
  5. I don't think it is difficult to come up with something original since the world in continually changing and evolving, there is always a new perspective to be had. I don't think literature is as important to the younger society as it was in 1957. In 1957, there were things to rebel against and literature was a way in which they could do so. I could be wrong though. This is a very good topic to discuss because it is a growing problem. I think the poetry posted on the internet is a little misleading...I used to judge teh direction poetry was going in based on what 14 year olds were writing on link removed, but now I know that the real poetry being produced you can find in literary magazines, journals, etc. The quality has gone down though, since the days of Kerouac. Most publishers are all about the marketing and many writers today are snobs.
  6. Closest Casket ~ I want to leave my mark on this sheet of paper I want to leave my stain If every man's an island Gazing around for a kingdom to reign We are permeable sheathes of the Seventh domain Open to tears on the ends just to make all these Poems make some damn sense I'm tense about when, where, and why Holes in my skin to absorb your demands I want to hold you with my laughter Cry you a sun And cover up your pain with my pain Cover your pain up with my vanity ~ I'll seal you a fate and promise you a fortune Blocking each other's see-through white cotton barriers with One more desolate form of the one---the sadness---while again We mask all that we're hiding with movie nights and diet Coke The come I drink and those times when our eyes are the windows A shot of rum hits that tough spot in the soul That one deep down in there Yeah, pour just a tad of that Captain Morgan And watch my nightmares explode with Fanfare ~ We will fall into one solid mess with our hair, our Clothes thrown and scattered everywhere, they lay on the floor You can see the souls through the cotton, it's cheap Not all was shunned We are opened still and still we're bare Holding onto each other and waiting for the pseudo-gun To reappear ~ Well, there's no one else to grab onto That's my excuse Besides all the others, the others, the others They just can't hold on They're that all that's not for us All the knocks on our doorstep that tell us To get up, go out; walk just a little bit farther down the road And use your eyes Use those eyes we gave you Eyes that have been spooned out like an old man's sight Telling his wisdom that its Time for goodnight Shut off those nighttime lights And watch yourself Goodbye! We catch on and off, away we fly We bounce with the wind and hopscotch in Heaven In the seasons of love In all of the seasons ~ I'm withered again And tired And beaten, I fell For your charms For your everyday kisses were promises I thought your everyday kisses were promises
  7. Yeah...some of the things people on this thread said were quite offensive. I love how the mods do not care if people openly make fun of vegetarians... A good site to learn more about why people become vegetarian/vegan/raw foodists is this site: link removed Althouth I doubt that the original inquirers are truly interested.
  8. WOOOOO! You DO deserve self-worth! I find a lot of the time that people who don't have self-worth are unhappy all the time because they unconsciously believe that they do not deserve to be happy. They would rather endure the pain instead of fighting against the causes of that pain and striving to be happy. I decided about a week ago that I was going to start doing this to. My roommate/"friend" always puts me down, so I started fighting back. Usually I sulk away and put my headphones and then cry to someone else. I also haven't been as dependent on my boyfriend for happiness. I stopped thinking that he doesn't love me and am being more understanding of his other priorities. I also have become more focused on my future career (I graduate next year). My grades have risen significantly due to this and I might be beating my bf this semester haha.
  9. You've been with him for 2 YEARS and you haven't said you love one another? Jeez...I mean, if you don't know by now, how long is it going to take?
  10. Maybe my bf and I are just different...but if this happened to me, I would consider breaking up with him. I would feel as though he has either lost interest, too lazy to drive to see me, or doesn't care about my feelings. Maybe I am too sensitive, but I think that is REALLY cold to ditch you and then party all weekend. She at least should have asked you first or asked you to come up there and go out with her friends. That is NOT nice when you are in a relationship. How long have you been going out??
  11. A lot of times people undermine issues like this, but what they don't understand is that lifestyle choices such as vegetarianism or non-smoking represent a larger outlook on life. Many people could not even think of dating someone who does not value health and wellness. These ARE fundemental aspects of life that could come between people. People that do not value health knock others for not accepting a mate's choices. And many people who value health knock others for being with people who DO accept their mates choices. I think that if health and vegetarianism are THAT important to you in that they reflect your entire outlook on life, than you and you bf should have a heart-to-heart about these issues and see what he thinks. I do not think you should break up over this, however I don't know just how important these things are to you. Do they merely frustrate you or do they make you question your compatibility in the long run?
  12. I am a vegan and my boyfriend is an omnivore. He completely and utterly respects my decision and oftern eats vegan food. However, he probably won't change and I respect that. It is a two way street. If you want him to respect you, you have to respect him. I understand that ideology and philosophy can really come between people...so you have to decide whether or not he is worth it.
  13. I am a vegan and I do not believe that eating meat or anything else is wrong. Humans are perfectly capable of eating meat and being healthy. It is just that I personally do not like it or enjoy it and I get my protein from other sources. I also do not agree with the methods used in factory farming (if you want, rent "Meet Your Meat"). Being vegan has introduced me to a more healthy lifestyle and helped me discover many different foods that I like. I do not regret my choice and I have been a healthy vegan for 4 years now. My boyfriend eats meat and I respect his choice and he respects mine.
