  1. I really like your post. Because it shows that often times when dumpers have no "real" reason to dump someone everything lies inside them. However not so many people take the time to look inside themselves and develop a more mature way to see relationships. Most likely you went from honeymoon to next stage and thought "things are not the same" as obviously they can't be the same after a long time with someone. Had you had someone new coming to your life, you'd start becoming interested in him trying to see if that grass was greener. It might be, it might not. But I think now is the time when you are becoming fully aware that feelings come & go and it's not wise to always act on them. Being said that, I can see why breaking up is always the thing to do. Really there is no other option as being in a relationship while half-hearted is quite hard to fake. But instead of jumping onto someone new, taking the time to dig inside oneself seems a more profitable way to achieve better results in the long run. I wish you the best for both of you.
  2. While telling an older friend about my story with my ex he told me: my wife also used to break up with me when we were dating but we ended up together. He then told me: "I acted as if she still was my girlfriend but didn't know it yet" (is this the nonchalance/no expectations attitude explained in other threads?). The wife said: "yes, and he was so persistent that I had to accept" I wonder how many couples get back together using this approach.
  3. but somehow there is a time when one stopped loving deeply the other and the other one was forced to stop doing the same.
  4. It would be interesting to get more facts about how people get back. Who started the approach, were they NC, how long were they apart ... every situation is different. But there must be some things in common.
  5. well 4 months after I still have this feeling when checking my email but now I make fun of it myself ... I say: "oh, well, she has not written. No problem, she surely is very busy." and I say it with a smile in my face. So it's more a matter of how you see things.
  6. You know you've been too long NC when you start counting the days as months ... so ... 118 days ~ 4 months!
  7. Almost at 4 month mark of NC ... got to know you apologized 1 month ago to a mutual friend for breaking up with me while he was visiting me and thus making his holidays harder. You had planned to do it later so that he could enjoy his holidays at my place. That's kind of you! :S Good to hear that you have been avoiding him (I guess out of shame or guilt). Good to know he really IS a friend and doesn't like how you dealt with everything. Ah, he still remembers you played with him 1.5 years ago. Wow, you haven't changed at all.
  8. 3 months NC yesterday! getting stronger each day. she sometimes pops up in my mind though but doesn't hurt. Just wondering what's she is up to and of course thinking if she thinks about me & if there'll be a comeback someday in the future but I'm having this feeling: "I don't care ... come what may, I'll be OK anyway"
  9. I am at day 80 ... and still alive LOL!
