  1. ----um okay lets drop the criminology discussion.....the fact is that i feel its wrong to hurt people with "jokes"......some people might find these "jokes" funny but other people are really really hurt by them....you know, some people seriously are hurt by this jokes, so all i am asking is that people be respectful and try to avoid jokes that target people based on sex, sexual orientation, race, religion, ect.....thank you
  2. ---the girl in this post is only 13...don't worry, her biological clock won't run out any time soon...
  3. That is excessive and sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway its really weird that human beings have the mind and will to injure themselves. LIke we have reached a level of "intelligence" far above any animals, and we use that intelligence (in part) to kill ourselves. Like no animal kills itself....no animal deliberately mutilates itself....i don't know thats just my random thoughts...
  4. I could NEVER share my love with more than one girl.....
  5. ---Actually your daughter probably is a legal expert. I don't know about criminology in Ontario, but in BC you study the law to death...in fact the legal study is so in depth that a criminology student when graduating here will have the same level of understanding of criminal law as a person who went to law school...thats not exaggeration....its true. Maybe your daughter is more an expert that you think she is... in any case I don't find any of these "jokes" funny. They are bashing people because of their gender and they do a lot of harm and little (if any) good. Even if they are not illegal, they are clearly of bad taste and should be banned.... Here is a sample of one "joke" with different characters: “It’s fine. Just do what you want.” The black man may think: Cool! Bye! What the white man is really saying: You are SO DEAD later. ---See how discriminatory it is....
  6. Oceaneye's ideas are good. The fact is you will have to use them, because this is NOT a case of sexual harassment....romantic harassment, yes...sexual, no. A sexual harassment lawsuit will be laughed out of court in this case.
  7. "It’s fine. Just do what you want.” The man may think: Cool! Bye! What the woman is really saying: You are SO DEAD later." ----um...this quote definitely could be interpreted as hate speech....the problem is the phrase "you are so dead later"....isn't that encouraging violence? isn't that hate speech? I have studied the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and have studied the law to death (i am a criminology student).....i am an EXPERT in Canadian law....all i am saying is be cafeful about what you say....even if you are charged with hate speech, you can still be sued for what you say....of course that applies to me too because i have made some rather ignorant and stupid comments also, even on this forum....i am just warning people to be careful when they make comments about certain groups....i know I Have made that mistake...i freely admit it....so i just want to warn others.....
  8. Oh! Who cares what other people think !?! Waiting around for a few years doesn't sound like a feasible option to me. If a guy said to me, "oh, i love you, let's date in a few years" I'd say, "goodbye!" ---True LOVE waits for someone.....
  9. In some parts of the world making such "jokes" is consider hate speech. In many counties it is illegal to promote hatred against identifiable groups, and jokes like these are often banned. For example, recently Canada Customs tried to block T-shirts that had the label "Boys are stupid. Throw rocks at them" There are limits to free speech, and be careful because comments like this can be interpreted as hate speech and you can be prosecuted in some nations.
  10. Ummm...i suggest that you and Ashlee just remain friends for the next couple of years. Even if you don't have sex, people might have wrong ideas about you. Just be her friend....get to know her...take care of her....be there for her. If you really love her, then you will be patient in waiting a couple of years before you can develop a strong romantic relationship with her.... take care, Drahcir
  11. Simple question....what do you do on Valentine's day if you don't have anyone special to spent it with?
  12. I have been studying Canadian law for more than three years, and I know what I am talking about. This case is NOT a case of sexual harassment. Sexual harassment requires a sexual component...ie asking someone for sexual favours....if the request is romantic and not sexual, then it cannot be classified as sexual harassment. There is a difference between sexual conduct and romantic conduct. I have studied Canadian CIvil Code and the Human Rights Code in all of Canada....nothing illegal has happened here. Immoral? Yes...Illegal...nO.....this case does not classify as sexual harassment.... This is what CAN be done.....just tell the guy how much this behavoiour is hurting you. Maybe he doesn't understand that...explain to him how you feel, why you feel that way, and tell him to stop....but under the law you can't file a sexual harassment complaint becuase nothing sexual has happened......good luck.....and take care Drahcir
  13. I agree that the boss' actions are harassment. But they are NOT sexual harassment. It is impossible to file a sexual harassment complaint if there is unwanted sexual advances....you can NOT file a sexual harassment complaint in your situation....all you can do is see if there is any ways to stop harassment that is not sexual.....good luck
  14. ----Actually the law in the US and Canada is that bosses have the right to access EVERYTHING that is done on computers that they own, including reading personal emails. Numerous court cases have affirmed that bosses have the right to look at everything that happens on computer they own.... There must be a sexual component to sexual harassment. No court has EVER recognized sexual harassment as not including a sexual component. If no sexual favours are asked for, and there is no unwanted touching and no sexist comments, there is NO sexual harasssment. Sorry, that is the law!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Thats a really good start. I tell you, when you leave high school you will make soooooooo many friends that you didn't know before. MOst people in high school are rather selfish and don't care about others.....but outside I am sure you will find many friends who care about you and who you won't want to withdrawl from. Maybe you will even find a boyfriend who cares about you.......good luck!!!!
