  1. I think they are butterfly props? link removed Although the butterfly that's on there is $250 a pop wow... One of my favorite photographer used similar prop with her dog. link removed
  2. I'm going to sound critical but a lot of these pictures either are too distracting, doesn't give you an idea what was being taken and few that just have been shot so similar by others. If this was a close up of the flower taking up the frame with the house on the far blurred it would look much better. This is one of the better one though the ground is not level (see the columns above) which I would try to rotate a bit and crop so that the two columns are filling the left/right edge of the photo. This shot is just is a bit distracting though you can probably de-saturate everything but the red columns perhaps. Flares and overexposure; I wouldn't consider this one at all. Good but it's one of those shots that's been taken by so many people. The originality just isn't there. I would pick photos that you have filled the entire frame; photography doesn't have to be about capturing everything like you'd do in landscape photography. I'm sure you have others that have a unique but interesting point of view perhaps?
  3. I think it's beautiful when done right but everyone has different taste; it's another form of art really.
  4. It's not too hard to do; if you can't find anyone with Photoshop to do it you're more than welcome to PM me the pic and I'll edit it for you. I do editing and digital photo restoration from time to time.
  5. Awesome shots as usual Never tried ND filters but makes me want to try them out (aside from the price tag lol).
  6. Really sharp...loving the bokeh What do you shoot with?
  7. In some ways it's definitely expression of emotions and thoughts at any given time much like music. Other times to me it's what I actually get in return by creating certain art. What feels right, the feedback I get personally from the art itself, etc if that makes sense.
  8. Green apple. 580EX II remotely triggered from the left bounced against a white background and cheap reflector on the opposite to fill the shadow side. image removed
  9. Nope, I haven't done a lot of portrait to justify. I do bit of product photography.
  10. Nope, mostly learned from online resources. Been doing photography for about seven years now. link removed link removed link removed ^some great resources.
  11. Well it depends on the aperture of the lens as well. Say a lens that's designated as 50mm f2.8; f2.8 is the aperture which how big the lens can open, the smaller the number, the bigger opening (it's weird concept I know). If you take that lens, shoot it at f2.8 of a subject, you'll have a somewhat of a blurred image in the background. If you take say a 200mm lens with the same aperture, the blur will be even more visible. But if you 'stop down' the lens where you close the aperture to say f8, you'll have an image that you can see the background more. It really depends what you're shooting. Sometimes you'll want to stop down to take a picture of a subject with no background blur. Generally f2.8 and larger (up to f1.2 lens) is expensive as the construction of the glass is bigger to allow more light but can take very sharp images. Not to say other lens can't but it's also nice feature in low-light setting. I'd definitely get a zoom lens that can offer between 35mm~200mm. It'll be versatile for wide angle shots to up close/macro or the blurred image shots.
