Designer Maternity Clothes By Supermodel Heidi Klum

Popular German-born Victoria's Secret model Heidi Klum is about to launch two clothes lines for expectant mothers, "Lavish" by Heidi Klum and "Loved" by Heidi Klum.

The Project Runway hostess and the mother of four herself, Klum has literally been pregnant for years, and has always managed to look stylish and chic throughout all her pregnancies. And now the supermodel, who already has her own range of clothes and accessories, came up with an idea to design the outfits for pregnant women so that they can still be comfortable and fashionable.

According to Klum, she herself experienced fashion challenges and found that there were difficulties when it came to being fashionable with a baby belly and this along with her knowledge in the world of designer clothing had helped her to create her two collections. "Being pregnant should not stop you from being fashionable and feeling great about your changing body. It is an exciting journey," she said. Klum follows in the footsteps of a popular TV star Nicole Richie - a mother-of-two - who launched a range of maternity clothes in August, 2009.

The higher-end "Lavish" by Heidi Klum collection will include 15 pieces that feature iconic style and detailed construction, including a slinky black mini-dress, a tunic for maximum comfort and a stunning black maxi dress priced at $128. And more pragmatically priced "Loved" collection will feature 14 pieces with comfy styles such as a button-down tunic for $30 and a loose-fitting floral print dress for $40. "Lavish" collection will be carried in A Pea in the Pod stores, while "Loved" by Heidi Klum line will be sold at Motherhood Maternity shops.

Klum said that the reason she chose to call her collection for A Pea in the Pod Lavish is that she wanted a special and exquisite name that will express everything any mother would want to give herself and the child growing within her. For Motherhood Maternity, name Loved implies a celebration of new life and the love around a mother and her baby.

The 36-year-old catwalk queen has three children with her musician husband Seal - 3-month-old daughter Lou Sulola and sons Henry, 4, and Johan, 3. The supermodel also has a 5-year-old daughter, Leni, from her previous relationship.

"Lavish" by Heidi Klum, for A Pea in the Pod, and "Loved" by Heidi Klum, for Motherhood Maternity will debut online and arrive to American stores on February 12, 2010.
