i've been boxing and kickboxing for about 6 years now and have approached the weight loss and gain game from all angles.

don't try any of these special diets that clain drastic weight loss and so on. why? cuz they don't work.

there is no trick to losing or gaining weight. the concept is pretty simple, but takes some effort to pull off.

first things first, make sure there is NO junk food in ur diet. no sugar except from fruits. try to lessen the amount of high carb foods such as pasta (italian food in general). drink lots of water. do cardio exercise every day for about 30 mins, or however long u can do it for. cardio would include things like running. rope skipping, treadmill, speed biking.

there are 2 ways to lose weight, the natural way (what i've said above), and through "substances," but i don't recommend that u go anywhere near them. do it naturally or u'll screw up ur body.

by the way, how far away is ur semi? cuz 15lbs is quite a bit of weight to lose. u can pm me and ask w/e else u're not sure abt if u dont feel comfortable posting such info.

Use your mind. Constantly tell yourself " I WILL lose weight" and stuff like that it's all about your will.

Along with that, drinks TONS of water I'm talking Lakes. Eat, but don't be an idiot about it, that goes for, not eating anything, and only eating celery. Although only eating celery would work quite good.

A great example is the people on Survivor, they lose weight easy. Go on a survivor diet, very hard to do with all the access we have but hey, if your will is strong enough ANYTHING is possible.

Good Luck.

I have never battled wieght luckly, but my mom and her friends were heavy for many years until they joined Weight Watchers. I know that as a 15 year old, you probably can't even join, but here's the trick (she lost 6 pounds in the first week, and about 2-3 after that).

It's all about how much you eat. Portion control. As well, go for whole wheats, and low fat yorgurts, milks, drinks ect. DRINK TONS OF WATER. EXCERSISE!! Keep to it, it's tough, do it with a friend and eat healthy. How much time do you have?

If you want more weight loss tips, PM me and i can give you tons.

1) Water
2) Excercise
3) Don't eat too much/Eat healthy and tons of fruits and veg. (some fruit has tons of sugar too!!!)

Definitely water!!!
My friends and I once had a water challenge---we were drinking a gallon a day. I was doing light exercise at the time, but nothing really excessive. During that time, everybody asked me why I looked so good. I looked a lot slimmer and the puffiness in my face (and elsewhere!) was gone. My skin was smooth and the under eye bags disapeared. My clothes fit better.
So, as the other posters wisely pointed out, I would definitely drink tons of water along with whatever else you plan on doing!

Vacuum...too much water can kill you. 8-10 glasses a day would be fine. Along with aerobic exerices, weight lifting or any resistance training burns more fat then the aerobic alone. The bigger the muslces the more fat you will burn.

Spreading out your meals will benefit in weight loss to, also helps speed up your metabolism. Eat 5-6 smaller meals every 2.5-3hours. You can also get a quality protein powder to replace a couple of those meals.

Good Luck

I find people in america find themselves over-eating... eating because its a habbit, eating because there is nothing else to do... If you eat, when you need to eat, no snacking (unless its fruit/vegies), and no pop , only water. Also people in America think we need to "EAT EVERYTHING ON OUR PLATE." well sure back then, the plates weren't as big as they are now.

so we have more on our plate that we "HAVE" to eat, i don't believe this promotes health, I say eat until you think u might be full, don't eat to the point where you like "YEP IM FULL NOW, NO MORE FOOD" eat until you feel comfortable going without food until the next meal, not missing a meal because you overate

Move to Japan.

Seriously though, ever wonder why Japanese people stay so skinny, even though they eat tons of rice and sweets? Portion control all the way. Even at the McDonald's, the portions are much smaller than I'm used to in the U.S. Eat when you're hungry, but don't eat when you aren't. When you are hungry, eat until you are satisfied and then stop. Listening to your body (really listening, not "oh I'm craving chocolate let's eat"), and you'll be surprised at what it will do for you.

That and the Japanese tend to bike and walk everywhere since they don't have space to own cars. Exercise and portion control have helped me lose a little in the three months I've been here (I'd say 5 - 10 pounds).

This is very true, they are even substantially larger in the U.S. than they are in Canada, and we're just across the border. I was in New York a couple of months ago, and the medium sizes (fries/ drinks) there is the same size as our larges or super-sizes.

Desired, since you're 15 and probably still in school and living with your parents, things might be a bit more difficult for you (especially if your parents are heavier or eat junk food/ takeout on a regular basis). On that note, are your parents heavier-set? I ask because if they are, being overweight might actually be genetic (which sucks, and will mean that you have to work your butt off and commit long-term to stay slim).

Losing weight might be harder for you if you've been brought up eating junk food. Even foods that you may think are "good for you" are generally not a good idea when you're trying to lose some weight. All of those salty, processed/ boxed foods that are sooooo easy to make and taste great? Say "buh-bye" to those, and hello to fresh foods like vegetables (especially green ones like broccoli, salads and spinach - they're full of iron and protein but can make you kind of gassy).

I think your weight-loss will depend on your home life and how supportive your parents will be. You may have some obstacles to overcome.

What can us Americans say...our food taste better and if you live in NY the food tastes even better! I never heard about the McDonalds thing...I just thought there was less of a selection on the menu.
