uh oh

I made love this morning but when I got up I found that the condom was in the bed and not on me. The chances of anything happening would be really small wouldn't they? She asked me to get a pregnancy test to be sure so I'll do that.
The other thing I'm really worried about it that she'll end up hating me for this :/

Hard to say. It depends on where she is in her menstrual cycle. But there is a significant chance she could get pregnant.

And why would she hate you? Did you not put the condom on at all? Or did it slip off?

Instead of just getting a pregnancy test you should consider getting the morning after pill. You can easily get this from Planned Parenthood or the girls doctor. The morning after pill loses its effectiveness after 72 hours so if u pick that option there is a time constraint.

You can't assume that just because it happened *one* time that nothing will come of it. It only takes one time to get pregnant, one time to get an STD, etc.. In other words, she should really see a doctor and get tested.

I would suggest not taking the test right away. Wait to see if she misses her period because, the hormone level will not be high enough for the test to detect whether or not she is pregnant until then. Talk to her about how she feels about the situation and if she knows when she ovulated and the chances of pregnancy. Also the what ifs of pregnancy and future intercourse and how to be more careful. Things happen, but just make sure you try to be aware and take all measures of protection and know the risks.

As another poster mentioned, the morning after pill within 72 hours is an option.

Now, did you use condomn at all? Or did it slip off?

How long ago was her last period? Please keep in mind that while women USUALLY ovulate midcycle - this can vary. Some women even ovulate more than once per cycle! But, if it was right after/before, you might have better odds, but keep in mind also sperm can live 3-5 days (or sometimes more) inside her body - meaning they might be waiting at ovulation!

I did use a condom yes, the issue was that when I got walked out to clean myself that I noticed it was no longer on and was on the bed. I'm not sure when it actually sliped off.

Her periods really irregular which makes it hard to tell what stage she is in.

There's been a minor issue with getting the morning after pill, she needs to be there when we get it and she'll be going back home tonight (she's here to study but lives far away). Finding the time today when she can come may be a challenge.

Thanks for all your replies everyone.
