Just wondering if this plan for weight loss will work

im overweight so over the summer i have a plan for weight loss. ill wake up every morning at 9ish & walk down to the church (bout a mile walk) where my mom works, she'll drive me down to the gym where ill work out till 12 oclock. afterwards ill walk back home or have my mom drive me home (about 2 miles). ill probably take my brother with me if he feels like it. when i dont feel like going to to the ymca (the gym) ill just jog for a wile with ankle & wrist weights. ill also diet.
i was just wondering if working out 3 hours a day 5 days a week will work & any suggestions would be appreciated.

First of all you need to set some goals for yourself. How overweight are you?

Losing weight is hard. You have to incorporate diet as well as exercise. By eating sensibly, you can jump start your metabolism. Eat 5 mini meals a day, mostly protein, easy on the carbs. Stay away from sugar, white bread, chips, etc. NO FAST FOOD. Drink LOTS of water.

Mix your work out, cardio training and weights. Stick to this, and the pounds will melt off.

Good luck

You need a workout plan for when you are at the gym, draw yourself a quick table of what exercises you are going to do, in what order and for how long.

Have a read throught the following post to get some more ideas:

Remember, since you're working out 5 times a week, don't focus on building bulky muscles. Thing's like benching as much as you can untill you can't do anymore. This makes your muscles sore the next day, which is good. But, if you're working out 5 days a week, it's not good.

Cardio workouts are the best for loosing weight. One that you can do in a gym is with the leg press. Start with about 70 lbs and start lifting. Do this for two or so minutes, non-stop. Adjust the weights as needed.

And yes, dieting is critical. Just make sure you keep diciplined. It's easy to set yourself back with a piece of cake or a dougnut.

Lastly, motivation is the most important factor is weight loss. Everyone can make a plan to loose weight. Everyone that want's to loose weight can think about it. But, the only thing that makes you actually loose weight is the action. Keep motivated. Keep goals. Do your best to meet those goals.

I am setting up my own plan. Right now I need to trim some body fat. Can't get my abs to come through. So I want to go on a no whites, protien only diet for 2 weeks. During this time I am going to do alot of cadiovascular. I plan to ride a bike down to community pool (approx 2 miles away) swim laps for as long as I can. About an hours worth of swimming I plan, then ride bike home. Might do some jumping jacks and some light wieght lifting.

Once I trimmed some body fat. Ill start to bike to the pool and back for warm up. Then do some heavy wieght lifting for muscle mass. Then Ill ride bike down to pool and cool down in the pool working on breath duration. During this muscle mass time, ill go to protien and some carb diet.

Doing this cause I need to get back into shape if I want to lifeguard again. dam snowboard injury gave me 2 hernias that had me on a no lifting for 1.5 years.

(no whites = no white flour, no sugar, no milk products. helps celebs shed weight really fast. Do this before awards usually. Adding in protien for some energy. Mostly eggs, fruits, and veggies as diet)

Well, I did a work out plan that lost me 20 pounds over the course of 3 months, with no diet change. In fact I've been eating less healthy than usal lately, but I got down to 145 (I am 6"1). It took a lot of hard work, but I planned it around my school day. First, I would wake up at 530, and play tennis until 7. Then I would do all my stuff as usual, bike 9 miles to school, and I was also on the school tennis team. I would do all of my stuff for tennis, then bike back, the 9 miles. Then at 8 o clock at night, I would do do sit ups and push ups for half an hour. Yeah, that was my day for 3 months, then tennis ended and I have to play with my friends to stay really good.

Don't jog with ankle or wrist weights. They do have a place in training, but generally when you are very strong, and for specific movements, not casual things like jogging.

If you are overweight, your body fat will add plenty of added resistance. If you want to increase the workout, run for longer distances, or at faster speed (same distance in less time), or on more difficult terrain, like uphill.

You can add some weight training to this, but body weights really have no place in running. If you must have resistance, dragging a sled is generally the least harmful, followed by using a weighted vest, or pushing/pulling a wheelbarrow with weights in it.

I lost alot of weight in my teen years but how I did it was NOT a good idea. I went on a crash diet and believe me that that is a BAD idea. For you though, I suggest that you don't try too much too soon. Burning fat isn't easy, you have to be careful what you eat but also be careful how much you burn off. Don't expect that one summer of working out to wip you into shape, pace yourself and set goals and you'll do fine man .
