Trouble sleeping for a year? That could be a sign of something medical. I really would see a doctor for that. Something is not right.

Humm maby you might have to graves jobs that is what I had to do to help me sleep. I have all ways had a problem sleeping in the night but the days it was easy for me so now I am a grave person. That might help you. I dont sugest taking sleeping pills becouse you might become addicted to them (I know how easy it is too) I hope that this helps.

I don't think you can solve this one without seeing a doctor. Sleeping disorders that last this long need to be corrected as soon as possible. It can get tricky otherwise.
Are there any specific reasons you don't want to consult a doctor? |

Try cutting out caffenne. I know it will be hard since you are tired to begin with, but it may help. Also, try exercise. These always work for me.

There could be several reasons for your sleep difficulties. I looked it up, and here's a link that might help you out a bit as far as pinning down why you can't sleep/what type of sleep disorder you may have/remedies, etc.
sleepnet.com/ Give that a shot, see if you can vary your routine or diet enough to give your body that extra little "push" towards bedtime, and, if all else fails, you DO have to go see a physician! Lack of sleep over an extended period of time can cause you serious difficulties in your studies/work/social life, all aspects of your life, and can lead to depression, which you definitely want to avoid! Good luck!

Im with Kodos!
Im with Kodos!!! Even though i drink something with caffiene (sorry about spelling) in it at around 6 pm, i cant goto sleep until 3 am. It's terrible.
And also, try to goto bed WHEN you are tired, and not goto bed just because you want to. I am a person who knows how you feel, I always have a hard time sleeping. What i do, is dont drink caffiene past 4 pm, and just watch TV or something about an extra hour past my bedtime but i guess that's because my mom is very lenient. but i just goto bed WHEN i am tired because if i goto bed when im not tired, all i do is sit there and think about stuff so i cant sleep. Hope this helps, besta luck --Zid
