This is kind of embarrassing!

My boyfriend was teasing me this past weekend because he said I was snoring the night before! I thought he was joking, but he wasn't!! I don't think I have ever been a snorer...but apparently I am now! He was teasing me again this morning, because apparently I did it again last night!!

I got so embarrassed! He said I didn't do it very long and it wasn't like I raised the rafters and then he said that he was just giving me a hard time and it doesn't bother him (he even said he thought it was "cute"...ummm...yeah right! NOT). Now I'm all paranoid to sleep next to him. I mean come on, who wants to sleep with someone that sounds like a pig!? SOOOOO not attractive.

Any thoughts on how to stop snoring...or any remedies that have worked for others? I don't want to do this anymore, I'm mortified! lol

Guys, what would you think if your girl snored??

Evidently I do too. But during my pregnancy my partner often would sleep in his daughter's room because I was so loud. I"m like..helloooo...there is a 9 pound baby on top of my chest and I cant breathe!!

As for things to reduce it...it was worst when I slept on my back. So, belly and side sleeping wasnt that bad. Hopefully you're not a back sleeper.

Also, I think that I snored more when I was exhausted or even more tired than usual. Could it be that you were super exhausted?

I snore every now and then. Nothin' to be ashamed of. Sometimes it happens when you're a little stuffy but still trying to breathe through your nose. Have you been feeling sick lately?

Personally, I snore when I am uncomfortable. I told my boyfriend this the first time he called me out on snoring. I'm a "heavy" sleeper, meaning that even when I'm uncomfortable, I'll sleep through it, but that means I'll snore. So I tell my boyfriend that if he hears me snoring, to wake me up or move me. It works.

There are lots of reasons for snoring...but if the problem becomes perpetual, chat with your doctor. Sometimes it can indicate sleep apnea, which can be bad for your health.

Um... he didn't say you sounded like a pig

As people get older, they tend to start snoring, even if they didn't before. I know I started to about a year ago - lightly, yes, but I still do. Almost everybody makes some kind of noise or other when they sleep

If it's really bothering you, you can try the "Breathe Right" strips that you place on the bridge of your nose. They open the nasal passages, and can alleviate snoring in some people. They look a little silly though, so it's a toss up between looking silly or snoring occasionally.

Or you can believe your boyfriend that it's "cute" and not worry about it at all

Here's another revelation: You probably fart in your sleep, too. Likely very loudly as well, since you're relaxed and unconscious at the time.

Seriously, it's not like you can control what you do when you're sleeping. If you happen to be on your back and your mouth opens slightly because your muscles are relaxed, you're gonna snore. If you lie on your side and your mouth opens, you're gonna drool.

As long as you're not exhibiting symptoms of sleep apnea [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], this is just of of those things that comes along with being human.

Oh, sure, if you want to throw money at it, I'm sure you can find all sorts of devices, gadgets, supplements, etc. that will claim to eliminate snoring. Whether they work or not is debatable.

I dunno. Personally, I could find better things to spend my money on.

Well, I have to admit that Saturday night I had been partaking in a little Halloween refreshments...lol...and although I didn't drink anything last night, I was pretty tired.

Thanks. Yeah, I have been a little stuffy lately. And ya know, I find myself waking up several times during the night...I wonder if it could be a mild for of sleep apnea?? Hmmm

I once suddenly sat up in bed in the middle of the night. My bf at the time woke up and asked me what was wrong. I turned toward him and slapped him across the face.

I have no conscious recollection of this. Only what he told me the next morning. He said he could tell I was still asleep because, "It was a really wimpy slap."

I've also woken myself up talking, laughing and/or singing in my sleep....and had no idea what I was saying, singing or laughing about.

You can do some strange stuff when you're unconscious.
