Protect your Black Cats this Halloween!

There are some sick people out there who want to torture and kill black cats this time of year.

Black cats go missing right around Halloween. My brother's black cat disappeared the day before Halloween a few years ago, never to be seen again.

Keep them safe and indoors this week!

Yes, it's very sick when people do this. Torturing any animal is inhumane.

This is why many pet shelters don't let people adopt black cats around this time of year.

I've had two black cats in my life. The first one..we kept locked inside every halloween for about 4 years. My newest one is not even a year old. Thanks for the reminder..I totally forgot about that.

I have a grey tabby who I'm not going to let out on Halloween. I'm considering keeping him indoors permanently, anyways, but I always keep all of my cats (black or not) inside on Halloween. Too many sick people out there.

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll also pass this on to my friends with cats so they don't forget. It's incredible how many sick people there are... and not just on Halloween. One of my friends has a cat that came back wounded and covered in blood a few weeks ago. The vet told her that everything looks as if someone hurt and tortured her cat on purpose. Unfortunately they haven't been able to find out who did it.

I have a black cat. And you should all calm down this doesn’t really happen. Do you really think your neighborhood is all of a sudden over rule by dark cults? Your cats are fine. Read the snopes page

It inconclusive you think if this was happening all the time it would be inconclusive. I'm not saying don't take good care of your pets I'm just saying be worried about real things when it comes to your pets like spaying and nurturing keeping them flea and tick free and making sure they have the right food. Cars, dogs, coyotes, raccoons and bad flea medicine kill cats not cults.

I was wondering if this was more of an urban legend. I'm sure there are some cruel people out there though.

Inhumane treatment of animals absolutely disgusts and infuriates me. What goes around comes around and I hope those people get what they give.

Not always the neighbors or cults

during Halloween we have a bunch of kids and teenagers walking all around the neighborhood that wouldn't normally be, and sometime kids are stupid and think it's funny and a prank to hurt animals. Not only black cats, but watch out for all your animals.
