Hair test for drugs

Alright, I don't know why this never occured me, but it did just now. For the job that I want, I know there is some sort of test that's given for drug use. I don't know if it's urine or hair, but if it is hair, how long do the drugs "stay in" your hair?

I've got long hair for a guy, and I was told that as long as I have my hair this length, it will test positive, even if I used years ago.

Help

about 1cm/month it grows. If you've been clean for 10 months and your hair is 14 cm long, cut off 5 cm.
