I've been hanging out with girl for a year now, I think she's really awesome, we really like each other and yesterday she sends me an email to say sorry that she didn't reply to my previous email message because her computer was down and she writes "<3, see you soon". What does <3 mean?

There's a 95% chance it means nothing. if you've been "hanging out" for more than two weeks without asking her out, you are in the friendzone.
