Newborn baby girl gift?

My friend is in labor right now and i'm going up to the hospital to see her and her new baby girl later after work.

What's a creative gift idea for a new baby girl? I'm at loss..

Nothing really expensive because i'm trying to save money..any advice would be great!

It's not creative, but she will love you for them... diapers.

Lots and lots of diapers. She'll be going through them like water. I remember with both of my kids the friends that gave me diapers really "got it."

To make it pretty, one friend gave them to me out of the package and arranged prettily with ribbons in a basket. Not too expensive, and very very useful! You can add in a little soft toy if you like as well, something with no button eyes or anything detachable.

I thought about doing a basket with diapers! Maybe with some lotions, baby shampoo, etc..?

This would be perfect! All useful, all practical, and trust me, your friend will have her hands more than full trying to figure out the whole "mom" thing. This kind of gift she truly can use, and is very thoughtful.

You can buy the little diaper bag travel kit of Johnson's shampoo, desitin, baby wash, etc for about $4. And a pack of diapers for $10. IF you want to arrange it in a pretty basket, stop at a dollar store and get one for a dollar or two. Add a ribbon and voila!

Make her some homemade meals she can freeze? Offer to babysit one day when the baby is older so she can go out?

Yeah, I thought about making a homemade coupon that says something like "free night of babysitting" or something like that and putting it in the basket.
