I run lots, but I want to lose weight.... suggestions?

Ok,

I'm a little overweight, but strangely enough I have no problem running 5 and a half miles with no or few stops.... I am pushing for 6 and then 7 next week. I live on a hill so I use the slopes to make up for the time I end up wasting... practically jogging up the hill again... this hill isn't exactly a mountain, but it's got a grade of about 25 degress.... point is... I run, and I got a great opportunity to really increase my resistance and burn some calories.... Currently it takes me about 75 minutes to do a 5.5 mile round trip from my house with hills, dips and long stretches. What can I do to change my routine up a bit to shave off twenty pounds?

That's plenty of cardio man. If you're doing that every other day. You're diet is probably what needs to be fixed. What are you eating? Also, life some weights man.

Diet + strength training.

If you can do 5.5 miles in 75 minutes, your cardio isn't a problem.

Just eat healthy and lift some weights.

Just eat less calories then you burn.

short high intensity workouts are proven to burn more fat faster than long cardio ones. i think i read that somewhere.

crosstraining and a good diet like the Zone is what i would do. remember portion control is key.

perhaps your body is building a resistance to the same ol same ol... switch it up.

Ditto. The strength training will increase your muscle mass and metabolism, and consequently, you'll burn calories more efficiently...even when you are just sitting around. It can offset the occasional carb over eating as well. At least...that's the excuse I use.

i would try eating better. more meals and smaller portions. that doesn't mean go from a whopper to a whopper jr. cut out fast food and cut out sodas if you drink them. eat more fruits and vegetables and try protein shakes.

Hi aaron80...
If you are not losing weight, i think you should cut down on your calories. Upto 1700 would be fine. Also exercise with well trained workout schedules.
