Have an interview Monday-need an excuse for losing job

So the company i am interviewing with is one that my old boss had me call-the owner of the company. I would be meeting with one of the property managers. Do i play dumb and cross my fingers? or can i use another excuse like family, finances, etc?

If your old boss knows the owner of the company then I won't suggest that it'll be a good idea to make an excuse because it could possibly get back to him. You can let him know that due to the economy there has been so cutbacks within the company.

so you were laid off? no shame in being laid off, so admit it. but if you weren't laid off you were fired. it's one of the two.

it was not due to the economy, the girl was really treating me bad. Like harassment, but my best bet is to play dumb.
