From what I recall yes, but not my mom as much because she often belittled me and it bugged me a lot when I was young, so much so I worked hard to never belittle my own children, but when I got angry sometimes I would. I've since learned that my mom doesn't really like me so much, she tollerates me, she has always liked my brother more and well dad liked me more but he's dead now so we're (meaning my brother and I) are stuck with mom. But of course that wouldn't bother him because well she thinks so highly of my brother.

ha i think its just watching fake tv shows where the parents and kids actually get along ALL the time. Like they are always together and enjoy being with each other all the time. I get envious!

I liked being around my mom even though she was emotionally abusive, mentally ill, and at times unstable. I was attached to her and I think I was her favorite in some ways because I was really open and a "good girl" and I never got in trouble, unlike my brother and sister.
Now I see my mom for who she is. But she's not a completely horrible person (like my dad). She's mentally ill, but she has good intentions and I know she loves me. One time she said she favors me because I'm truthful and honest like her and sensitive, and she said she can't really trust my siblings who are liars and criminals. My dad is very distant and emotionally abusive (and alcoholoc). I always felt uncomfortable around him because anything he said could shoot me down into a tiny little person in one second. He used to pawn me off on others even though he only saw me every other weekend. I got straight A's, was quiet and obedient, etc., but he used to put me down and say he bet I was not going to go to a top university because my mom was raising me. He hates women and it took it out on me. I see him nowadays and he says he's proud of me because I am HIS child and that's why I turned out so well. He says HE did something right...when I went without seeing him for years and he never helped me with JACK! |

No I didn't. I still don't. They are old-fashioned and strict. They still think I'm a kid.

For all her faults, I LOVED being around my mum when I was a kid. But not my dad..

Yes. I think I have the best parents in the world, had the best upbringing, best childhood and wouldn't change it for anything in the world. I love them and am truly blessed.
