Shin problem?

Hi,

Ok so it all started when i kicked(sparring) my friend's shin(his shin is conditioned), i kicked til my shin was sore, then i kicked him again, and it was very sore, each step i would take it would hurt, the next day my shin was huge with bruises all around.

One week later i then went to see the doctors, they told me that my shin was infected and there is "black jelly" underneath, and had to take ibilex capsules.

3 weeks later or so my shin was getting better, until i was tempted to spar again, and yes this time it happened again, but this time it was just swollen but with very light bruises, don't know why.

Just today my friend told me that leaving this bruise for along time can lead to cancer, so i'm abit worried.

Does anyone have any answers to what's going on? how long would it take to heal? is this a serious problem? can i get cancer from it? and so on..

Thanks.

And your friend is a doctor?

Take your meds, stop sparring until everything it healed. Then stop sparring so heavily. Your body is telling you what it can't take, listen to it.

Maybe consider taking up a sport that doesn't inflict hematomas on yourself?

It's kind of like smoking then wondering why you have breathing problems...

A bruise occurs when capillaries are broken and bleed beneath the surface of your skin. I'm not quite sure how your friend reached the conclusion that this may cause cancer. Maybe you should ask your Doctor to ease your own mind.

My roommate (a couple years ago) had a friend who told her she should not eat throughout the day because having some food in your stomach all the time may cause cancer. Wha? I don't know where people get their crazy ideas.
