I know I need to exercise, but........

I'm having a serious problem folks I need help.I'm so out of shape(not obese, just royally out of shape).I was told today by my cousin if I don't get some exercise soon I wont be around much longer.I know in my mind I need too but I just can't seem to find the energy,I'm always tired. If I walk four blocks I feel like I'm gonna pass out or vomit.I smoke a pack of cigs a day and I'm about 55 lbs. overweight.I do more sitting than anything, and I'm depressed that I don't have the energy to work out.I need to see my doctor, but last time I saw him he told me JUST DO IT!And I explained it wasn't that easy.I'm serious folks what in the HELL can I do to get some energy so I can work out so I don't die prematurally.

well, only you can get out there and actually do it. quit smoking, that is bringing you down. also, eat healthier, you will gain energy from fruits and nuts.

its a self fufilling prophecy, you are tired because you are inactive and are living an unhealthy lifestyle, that just makes you not want to do anything. And when you dont do anything then you never overcome your problems.

If you can walk 4 blocks i say start there. and every week try to make it just one more block. Just 1! But in order to do that you have to want it. You have to want to be healthier.

It's an incredibly difficult road. The only thing I can suggest is take it slow. Don't go to the gym and do a full work out. Just gradually work in an exercise/healthy eating routine into your life.
I've been working out for a year and eating much better but I still fall off the wagon on a fairly regular basis. It's very hard! But you'll be so proud of yourself and you'll feel so much better.

Its sort of a pickle.
Energy comes from exercising.

I`d start with quitting smoking and eating better with proper sleep.

And then gradually building up your exercise tolerance. Even if its a block a night..you have to get yurself used to it.
The energy will come the more active you are, your body is just used to being a blob and being fed unhealthy things.

Its is as easy as just doing it! But you gotta start somewhere..even if its a small thing a day. Eating one more piece of fruit a day and cutting your smokes down. And just gradually do more activities and exercise daily.

out of shape/lack of exercise contributes to you always feeling tired. though tough at first, exercise (and eating better etc) will give you more energy.

How do I quit smoking?A little at a time or cold turkey?I tried cold turkey and it made my intake for smokes multiply.

I suggest you see movies/documentaries or just plain research on what foods do what to your body... I haven't eaten fast food in months, and I'm great. I suggest you work out a plan to QUIT SMOKING... and you don't work out a plan and a reliable friend or family member to make you stay accountable on that plan, you will plan to fail. I also suggest you do the same thing for working out/exercise, find/write down a plan... and you STICK TO THAT PLAN... you also get a buddy or someone to help you stay accountable to that plan and kick your butt in gear! I don't know how much more it takes to have you understand you will die early if you don't take care of what you eat and what you do with your body... if that's not reasoning enough to give you motivation, I don't know what is so you best be trying to find a reason to work and change your mind.

Start in small steps, don't plan so big that you won't be able to attain it, start in steps such as no fast food for one week, then try 2 weeks, try no cigs for a day or two, then push it, give yourself treats for going further each time til you don't need them either... dont treat yourself too much though. Make attainable goals, and you will find yourself reaching the bigger goals in no time. The only person that can make you do these things is you though.. I can write til I blue in the face, but it won't start to change until it changes in your mind.

I've never smoked, but I know that it can be extremely difficult for people to quit. I think if you can cut down on smoking so much it'd be a good start.

You need to see exercise as FUN and not just a chore. You need to view it as something you look forward to and not dread. I LOVE working out.The endorphine feeling I get is all
the motivation I need. You need to come up with a reason you LIKE it and it will come more natural.

For me..I love to throw on my headphones crank up the music and I can walk or bicycle for miles...it becomes effortless.
