Does anyone ever have to deal with this?

I get alot of canker sores (like my dad) and cracked lips in the corner (like my mom)

And the cracked lips really bother me. It builds up to little scabs in the corner of my lips, and I pick them, and it bleeds. Sometimes lip gloss doesn't even really cover it up enough.

Anyone know any homeade remedies to get rid of it?

Yeah, but they look so ugly because they scab. And I put foundation on it, and it makes it worse.

I think the main cause of it may be my retainer. I wear my retainer at night, but it's off and on.

My bottom one is SO tight that I have to take it off in the middle of the night. I wore it last night, and now I have cracks in the corner of my mouth when I didn't prior.

Coincidence?

When I was younger the corners of my mouth used to get cracked because I had the habit of licking them a lot. I just stopped doing it and it went away. I think in your case it's due to the retainers not fitting properly because it makes you produce extra saliva(?). Maybe try to keep that area extra moisturized so it doesn't dry out and produce scabs.

Yeah, my mom says she's going to get it resized.

I'm supposed to wear it off and on, but I don't. So when my teeth move and I put it on, of course I guess it wouldn't fit.

It hurts so bad!

I was stupid to get that bar removed. It was a perment bottom retainer and you couldn't even see it.

But I took it out because I thought it was the cause of gingivitis.

I used to get the exact same thing. My doctor informed me that often it is sign of a virus, bad health, or stress. Or sometimes it may be just due to dry lips, or genetics as you said. I find that Carmex lip balm applied regularly, as well as not touching or picking them, does the trick.

Use medicated Blistex on them. I get that sometimes too, usually in the winter. Drink more water and use Blistex. There's really not much more you can do.

Yep, take a decent multi-vitamin. It's often because of a lack of zinc or something...will get rid of it in about a week.
