How to entertain two teenage girls while they're here on vacation from out of the country?

In another month and a half, my aunt (mom's sister in law) and two teenage cousins will be flying to America to visit for the first time. My mom is trying to come up with things to entertain the girls, especially my cousins.

I haven't seen them in nine years, so I don't really know much about them. My mom says they're "goth" now, and they're 15 and 17, which is a rough age to deal with. She also thinks neither of them speak English. My Dutch is ok, my mom's is perfect since she was born and raised in Europe.

They only eat junk food, so we're coming up with a list of fast food places to take them to that they wouldn't have in Europe, like Taco Bell, Burger King, KFC etc. But as for things to do, we're kind of lost. We live near Chicago, so we're going to take them downtown to see the Sears Tower, museums, Millennium Park, etc., and maybe Medieval Times (though I recommended against that - it's kind of corny for girls their age. Maybe Dave & Busters, not sure. We'll also take them to a huge mall in our area.

But that's all we've got. They're staying for three weeks and we've got maybe 1 week planned so far. What do girls this age like besides the mall and boys?

The last time I saw them, they were NUTS about me. They always wanted to hang around me. I'd imagine that in 9 years I've become an "old man" to them and hanging around with me wouldn't really be ideal to them.

I would have gone crazy for medieval times at any age...

Personally, I loved the aquarium in chicago and the gigantic borders.

Hmmmm.... have you asked them if they have anything in mind they really want to do?

I'm European and we have KFC and Burger King in abundance here, but never seen a Taco Bell. Not sure about The Netherlands though, never visited.

Perhaps you can see if any suitable bands are playing in your area?

Ok, then Medieval Times maybe isn't such a bad idea. The Aquarium is on the list along with the museums.

I e-mailed the oldest cousin asking if she had anything in mind, she said she'd let me know. That was two months ago, and I never heard back.

Thanks for the input!! Keep it coming!

They're from Belgium, actually. Last time I was there, they never heard of Burger King or KFC, but who knows, now that places like Starbucks are in every nook of the earth, they may have those now.

Good idea about the bands. Just need to figure out what they're into. I was thinking a good American rock band, since rock is a staple of our country and culture, you know? There's always a bar around here that has local bands too. Thanks!

If they are "goth," then the music tends to be quite closely tied to the style.

Chicago has all kinds of music. They are a little young for the clubs, but how about House of Blues or Blue Man Group for a night out? Is there a festival going on while they are there? Chicago seems to have some sort of festival nearly every week.

Any concerts going on at United Center? You said in a month and a half they will be there - so how about a Cubs game? White Sox game?

We'd love to take them to BMG - I went for the first time last year and had a blast - but at $70 a ticket it's not the most affordable thing to do. I was thinking perhaps a hockey game or something at the arena nearby (where the big names in music also play). I also just thought of the Flea Market, since those are big by where they live. We have a HUGE one out here.

Also - I know I said we're near Chicago, but it's about an hour drive there. We don't want to take them there every couple of days. There are festivals just about every week, but usually in the summertime.
