Joining a weight loss study

And I'm praying it works. I gained 50 lbs. on meds and would like to get back down to that level at least, although I could lose more. I start on Feb 18th, I may or may not be put on meds (50/50 chance) and I get a podometer. Anyone ever use one? How annoying are they to wear all the time? Praying I get put on meds. It's a government based study so they don't pay as well as other studies I've been in but I think it's more promising with the government behind it.

I'm so excited I had to post.

Oh in other news. I found my dream wedding dress when I was out with my mom and dang nabbit I don't even have a boyfriend so I can't buy it. I didn't even love the wedding dress I used for my wedding. Didn't have one for the 1st hubby. Now of all times I find one!? Life sucks.

I did a pedometer once....I had it for a week. It didn't really work since, apparently, I walk funny in that I don't swing my hips enough or something. I'm a guy so swinging my hips isnt exactly natural to me.

I was pretty sure I'm off the charts anyway since I never take escalators/elevators and I walk EVERYWHERE in my job.

ps: "dag nabbit" - lol haven't heard that one for a while!

The best place to clip the pedometer is in the front, where your trouser crease would be. That way, your steps get picked up regardless of hip movement.

hmmmm, never thought of that...I should have tried it.

On a side note: it was a contest at my work on who could do the most steps in a month or something (and you get to win a water bottle or something crappy like that). Somebody won big time. However, she had been spotted in the smoking lounge shaking the pedometer under the table. What a cheat. But I had to laugh anyway.

I think regardless if you are in the med group or not, it's great that you are participating!.

A lot of studies have shown, that although meds for weight loss can help, nothing is so efficient and healthy as a 'life style change'.

Good luck!

PS: I know a lot of people who used pedometers and who were really happy about it, because it showed them how little they were moving and it enabled them to make some changes
