Cat doesn't cover up poo

My cat poo's and it stinks up to high hell and she doesn't cover it. she just scratches the side of the litterbox for 20 minutes. the poop smell is so pungent it makes me and others in my house gag in disgust.

LOL.... I have a couple who do that too! Not much you can do other than scoop immediately or buy a self cleaning litter box that will scoop right after she gets out of the box.

Communication is the key. Look maybe she just doesn't value cleanliness as much as you do. Think about compromise or maybe demonstrating to her the possible implications of an unhygenic house. Don't keep this bottled up...talk about it with her....but ultimately accept that if she does not come around to yur way of thinking she just may not be the right cat for you.

some kitties just do that. i would definately get the box that is automatic. also, try Dr. Elsies (sp) kitty litter. they really like that. i have one cat that will not use the litter box unless that particular litter is in there.

cats understand stuff, trust me!!!! tell her to be a good cat and cover her poo.

and i second the self-cleaning box suggestion. i got the littermaid 900 and it was the best thing ever!!! no cat smell whatsoever!

I had a first generation Serval hybrid, and they're known for this. And they're BIG cats. 25 to 30 pounds lean. I taught him to use the toilet, which made it much easier. It's very easy to do.

Other than that, I guess getting a "littermaid 900" would be the best route to go. I honestly think that all cats should be euthinized. (with the exception of big cats like lions, tigers, bobcats and leopards)
I think this is sad.

My cat doesn't cover hers either, but she is such a good friend that I overlook it.
