What kinds of food should I eat to look less skinny?

Hi. I'm very skinny and I don't like it. I need to put on some ..body mass. I want to have a more fuller figure! Basically I just need more meat on my bones. What foods should I choose to eat for this? It would be better if you can give me an example.

Thanks for reading and any tips I'd be happy to hear.

Honestly, I work out with a few girls who are trying to put on weight. Would you ever try working out and getting protein (for shakes)? My friends have been doing that, along with me... and I don't have my same figure anymore and neither do they. We've gained weight, but it's not fat... it's muscle and the protein shakes help build body mass. If you are interested go to a good local gym and ask, they will let you know how do to do that and it's a healthy way!

Working out will definitely help you gain the type of mass you want. Include some cardio (like running, biking, the eliptical) because it is good for your heart & will build muscle in your legs, but focus mainly on things like muscular strength exercises like lifting weights.

The best thing you can do to look fuller and have more meat on your bones is to go to the gym and do some weight training. This builds muscle. While cardio workouts at the gym mostly make you lose weight, lifting weights at the gym will indeed make you put on muscle and gain weight. On top of that, eat lots of protein rich foods as stated in previous posts.

Thanks guys. I am a bellydancer that looks like a ballerina.

my doc once told me to eat more junk food! I have no idea if he was kidding or serious...I think both. But anyways..I've been skinny ever since I was a little kid...more so actually.

So working out..will actually make me have a fuller body?..won't that just make me more skinny and toned? I don't want too much muscles because it will look bad on my skinny bones ..

In highschool one boy used to call me mr.bones..from the simpsons..and another wrote in my yearbook "get fat, PIG!". lol.

When I was in my final year of university..I slept really late cramming..and always got hungry around 2am..so I ate peanut butter sandwiches...almost every night..I think I felt a LITTLE fatter..but not enough.

I will continue the peanut butter...and eat more in general. maybe 4 meals a day..hehehe...I wonder if anyone has done that..Also, I'm underweight..always have been..I'm 5'6" and 93 pounds...I do have small bones I think.

I've never been to a gym before...definitely will try to get to one.

^ I would definitely not recommend eating more junk food!! I'm sorry but while this may or may not help you put on weight, it is very unhealthy! Instead, eat protein rich foods that are healthy or foods that contain healthy/ natural fat.

To be honest you shouldn't be cramming yourself with unhealthy food.
Get a healthy food book and live through that, eat healthy meals (three average sized meals a day and at least two snacks) drink lots of water and WORK OUT.
Tone your stomach arms and thighs/buttocks and you will notice a difference.

Eating unhealthy food will only give you a gut so if you eat healthy and work out, you should at least look healthy and not skin and bones.
And if you do work out, eat healthy and look after yourself: don't complain about being skinny! a lot of people would love to be skinny but don't have such high metabolisms as we do!
Healthy foods with good fats: red meats, fish, * * * * * * * , anything with protein.. you get the jist.
read books!
