Losing weight when taking a hot shower?
I have heard this before, Is it true that you can lose weight when taking a hot shower?

your right same concept but the amount of hot water and the time it would take in a regualr shower would be very little results.

Oh how I wish that were true...but somehow I don't think so or else someone would have marketed special "weight loss shower water" by now to "tap" into the weight loss group and create a new fad. |

Sweating makes you lose water, which is weight, so you might weigh a little less after sweating, but the second you drink anything, you re-hydrate and gain the weight back. So it doesn't cause fat loss.
In fact, being cold makes you lose more because your metabolism has to rev up to make more heat and burn energy (fat) to do so. If it's hot, your body doesn't have to make as much heat and hence uses less energy and fat. |

you can lose water weight because hot water= sweat.
however you will just gain it back the next time you eat/drink. so, in a nutshell, no.

In theory yes, because as others said, sweat would lose a small amount. There would also be an infinitesimal amount due to hair and skin loss but most weigh scales would not register that.

Actually, you can GAIN weight in a shower because your skin absorbs water. Confirmed this with a doctor several years ago. It's not very much at all (an oz or 2) but true - can happen.
