Various weight loss questions
I went from this:
Breakfast: None, unless starving hungry Mid-morning snack: Anything I could find that was sugery or salty Lunch: None, unless starving hungry Mid-afternoon snack: Anything I could find that was sugery or salty Dinner: Huge fatty meal. Dessert: Anything I could find that was sugery or salty. Drinks in between: Coke, maybe some cordial. To this: Breakfast: 1/2 cup fibre-enriched muesli with 1 cup lite soy milk and 1/2 cup all natural juice. 10:00 am: 1/2 cup almonds and a few dried apple slices. Lunch: One tuna and salad sandwhich on rye bread. 3:00 pm: Small tub Diet yoghurt. Dinner: Small meal of one meat, 3 vegies. No dessert. Drinks in between are plain water or very watered down cordial. Fridays, fiance and I go out for a huge steak dinner and sundae dessert. It's our 'to hell with it' day, so that we can resist temptation better during the week. I used to exercise by walking around the block every few days, now I have a thrice-weekly gym session and a twice-weekly Pilates class, with a two hour evening walk every single day. I made these changes last Wednesday and I've lost 2.3 kilos so far. Now, questions: 1. I'm always hungry and eyeing off extra yoghurt, muesli and almonds. I just want to eat the whole damn lot of them. Will the hunger pass as I get used to not eating so much, or will I always be this hungry? 2. Is this enough exercise, or too much? My body aches and if it wasn't for my dog I'd not go for my evening walk. It hurts to do anything, and I'm thinking of cutting back, but I already use Saturday and Sunday for my 'rest days' where I just have a 2 hour walk after lunch. 3. Meal replacements. The gym where I go has formulated-for-women meal replacement bars. So I'd be replacing my almonds or yoghurt with a bar. It's called 'Sculpt'...is it worth it, or should I stick to my current diet? 4. Fat-loss teas. Saw a box on sale, bought it, tastes like week-old cat urine. Do they work? Or should I throw it out? {because I am NOT going to drink it if it does no good!}

Rockabilly it sounds like what you're eating is pretty good. Six times a day should be sufficient...maybe you should just increase your portion sizes?
I prefer to drink protein shakes in the morning as opposed to making breakfast..it seems to work for me. Maybe you need to increase your protein intake a bit.Try adding a meal replacement bar during the day in addition to what you're eating now. |

Don't take any weight loss pills or teas, that is just a waste of money. Seriously.
Try these to snack on once in a while, they have mini's now so that is pretty cool: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] You need to make sure your meals have a good amount of protein or you will end up hungry. Light soy milk? EWW, don't kill yourself in the process of losing weight, that stuff is disgusting! LOL |

It tastes awful. I drink normal soy milk, since I have a lactose intolerence, but the lite stuff is so vomit-worthy it's not funny. I'm a bit of a meat addict, I really, really love rare steak, so at least every second day I have a double portion {two handfuls} of red meat. On my usual day {pre-diet} I would eat steak twice a day, more if I could afford it. Steak sandwhiches for lunch, consisting of steak and bread. Then steak for dinner. Just steak. But I've cut back and I want it back so badly

Just keep in mind that if you hit a plateau, keep at it cause your body fat can be burning but weight doesn't necessarily decrease. And no, it's not too much. Don't set the standard too low. You do see progress, so it's a good idea to do what's working Also, good job with all the progress and dedication! |

Just stick with regular soy milk, it is a lot better than milk anyways, health wise. Red meat is very bad for you from what I hear, but when I was younger I was allergic, lol. I'm a vegetarian now.
