First of all, I just started college this Fall. I moved 2 hours away from home and I have my own apartment. I left behind my mom, my sister, and my boyfriend of over a year. I went from spending every single day with them to seeing them once a month.
I cry every single day without fail. Something reminds me of how things used to be and I just want to go home so bad. I have ALWAYS been worried about everything. Absolutely everything. If someone doesn't text me back, I worry that they got eaten by something or they don't like me anymore. I worry about being late for class. I worry about getting things done. I worry about money. You name it, I probably worry about it. I guess I just really don't know what to do. See a doctor? I have tried talking to friends and family but all they say is "Sorry" and that just doesn't help.

Yes, see a doctor.
They will most likely put you on meds and recommend you see a therapist. It's a very common problem. Easily treated. Go take care of yourself. |

I've been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and I have those symptoms. Worrying is normal though. They will ask, and you should ask yourself: do you worry to the point of making yourself feel ill, or wanting to cry? Do you not just worry, but obsess? Because people worry about for example, money, every day. But do you sit for twenty minutes thinking "Oh god I don't have enough money I don't have enough money what am I going to do I'm never going to make it..." etc.
The crying every day is a symptom of depression, and depression could be causing your anxiety. You may need to just get treated for depression and the anxiety will lessen. Ask about Cymbalta, it treats depression and is more suited for depression with an anxiety side to it. If you go on meds specifically for anxiety (benzodiazepenes) I may have spelled that wrong. They have a risk of addiction and also a lot more side-effects. So address the depression first. Hope you feel better! p.s I'm also a psych major so I have a little background. |
