This isn't an eating disorder, but what is it?

I'm not anorexic or bulimic, but sometimes I have a problem eating. I DO eat though, but sometimes just the thought of the food makes me not be able to put it in my mouth and chew and swallow. The thing is, I LOVE to eat. Only certain foods I can tolerate and eat though. what IS that? And no, i'm not trying to lose weight or worried about it. I need to GAIN it actually. I do eat, every day, just not enough. Something happened a year ago and I lost my appetite and I never quite gained it back. And before that I could eat damn near everything in the house, in one sitting.

What is it that happened because that is the key to why there is an issue.

Have you spoken to your doctor about this?

I have the same weird thing though I went a few days without eating only like a medium fry each day because I really didn't feel like food or eating anything for that matter. I'm not trying to lose weight, actually needa gain it. So it was odd, but I ate something I hadn't in a while and there ya go=]. Back on track for a little way.

You should get a hold of your doctor, or a nutrionist.

When you say 'Something happened a year ago' - what sort of something?

I don't want to read too much into something which may not be the case, but your username suggests that you are maybe anxious. Some people react to stress by losing their appetite - I know I do - and maybe this is your way of coping in a situation you can't do anything about.

Possibly.

You don't really say enough about how you're feeling for me to be able to add to this.

Good luck!

Like I said nothing really HAPPENED, but I was just really stressed and it made me lose my appetite. And when something is stressing me out,I can NOT eat. I can't even look at food. I'm not going through that now, but that can't eat feeling is still there and i'm trying to figure out why!
