There are 2 kinds of Depression: Situational and Endogenous.

Situational is when there's been some event that's triggered the depression -- a break-up, a death, a job loss, etc.

Endogenous means there's something about your brain chemistry that pre-disposes you to being depressed. Doesn't have to be a reason. It just IS.

Nothing wrong with either kind. I have the whacked brain chemistry kind. Not so bad that I need meds all the time, but it's always there. If you throw in some situational depression on top of it, I will likely need meds to help me manage the worst of it. That's been the case historically, anyway.

Spent most of my 30's in therapy. That's probably why I don't need meds the vast majority of the time -- I learned non-med ways to accept/manage it in therapy. But I have no problem heading to the doc for a prescription if I feel myself careening into the black hole again.

It's a manageable condition.

Depression, reaction to stress, low iron anemia, vitamin deficiency.

Start taking some vitamins with iron to see if that helps. If it doesn't clear, then perhaps you are fighting a low grade depression.

You need some blood tests. Thyroid, sugar, blood cell counts, etc....to rule out any abnormalities.

It sounds like hypothyroidism to me, you should get a blood test done.

Low on energy, probably, find a way to energize your life, eat many times a day, smaller meals, get plenty of exercise, and find some time for hobbies, pets, and of course friends and family.
