I am going to take my first Yoga and Pilates class this week...I was wondering how beneficial they are? And how often do you do them?

Thanks!!

I personally LOVE yoga, it has been amazing for my mind body and soul. Since starting Yoga I have lost a very necessary 20 lbs, my body is leaner and my energy has increased. I also love doing the restorative yoga when i have a headache or a hard day and the medictaion has really helped me get more centred. I think you will love it!

I just bought "yoga for dummies". I did my first practice yesterday and I love it! My hamstrings hurt, I had no idea that Yoga might actually get me in shape!

I started a "Yoga for Cyclists" class on Sundays for the next 8 weeks. I've done a little bit of yoga in the past, but I'm really happy with this class so far. I get exceptionally tight, especially after races, and this is the perfect cool down. Loving it.

Yoga classes 3x a week...right now it's one very slow "head-spacey" kind of class and 2 that are more physical and less "head-spacey"

They both have their benefits.

After a few months, I suddenly realized I can move in ways that I couldn't before.
