Constant Nightmares
Some months ago (not sure how many, between 3 and 5), I started having bad dreams at night. Now, of course, I've had bad dreams before, but their frequency has increased to a point where I'm dreaming them very nearly every single night.
Now, I'm the sort of person who remembers their dreams, so this isn't entirely new to me, but now, when I wake up in the morning, I remember almost every single dream I have almost completely. So I know my mind is active the whole night. I've been sleeping with my boyfriend the whole time, so it's not as if I feel frightened or something like that. He gets to sleep far more quickly than I do and seems to sleep a lot more deeply. The nights that I sleep without having a nighmare that I remember in the morning are very, very rare. These nightmares have become bothersome. I feel disturbed by the dream I had last night. It involved evil spirits and my family, and in the dream I had to kill someone to get rid of the evil spirit and then dispose of the body. Yeah, it really bothered me when I woke up, and it's bothered me enough to see if there's anyway I can stem the flow of these terrible nightmares. Sometimes my dreams are not complete nightmares, sometimes they're not so bad, but on nights when I have really bad ones that make me wake up crying, I wish I could do something about having them so constantly. I'm not a basket case, I'm not depressed, maybe a bit stressed about college classwork and future plans, but not terribly. I'm in a happy relationship, and I feel pretty content and comfortable when I sleep...so I'm wondering why this is happening every single night?

I like horror movies but I don't watch them constantly. Maybe 2-3 a month, tops. I watch comedies just as much, if not way more. Why don't I have funny dreams?

I've watched horror movies all my life and I haven't had the constant nightmares. I'll try avoiding them, but something tells me it won't matter if I watch them or not. I haven't watched one in several weeks, but I still had this dream from last night. And what I saw in my dream--wasn't ANYTHING I've ever seen in a horror film.

I went through a stage when I kept dreaming about Zombies. Turns out I was playing Resident Evil too much. Sometimes things just get in your subconscious and even though you may not think too much of them at the time, they come out in your dreams. I remember having a nightmare ofter watching Xmen 2. Yeah I know X-Men freakin 2 but the film was about manipulation and it was that suck in my subconscious.
