Butt exercises

What can I do to tone up? I want my jeans to fit a little better, maybe clear up the love handles. I'm a guy so any guy-friendly exercise advice is appreciated!

as for the love handles any exercises will work. Thats just body fat and the only to get rid of it is to lower your overall body fat until your body gets rid of that paticular batch. You can't target fat removal.

As for the butt exercises, squats are a good one (also very good for general fat removal), and I imagine just about anything that moves your legs.

Squats and lunges are the essential tool box. Variations of.

Personally, I find hill running is killer for the butt! And more fun to me than the standard gym exercises.

Nothing beats cardio, it's an entire body workout, along with proper nutrition, these two go hand in hand, one does'nt work well without the other. Try the HIIT program. High Intensity Interval Training, it works wonders, basically, you, jog lightly for a minute, then sprint for 30 seconds, then back to the light job, do this for no more than 20 minutes. The whole point of this is to trick your body into burning fat. When you run at a consistant pace, your body will adapt, storing energy (calories), that of course is a bad thing, with HIIT, your heart rate is constantly lifted, then dropped, then lifted again, your body won't be able to adapt, therefore, it uses all it's energy, burning more calories and speeding up metabolism. It is'nt easy, theres no easy way to tone up.

Don't forget your cardio. It helps to burn fat. Try frog-squats and lunges with weights as well. Twist crunches and standing trunk twists are good for love handles. For more info: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

squats and deadlifts will give your legs and ass serious muscle. Cardio will shed the fat.

I agree with the above, squats, deadlifts and especially lunges. All Cardio will do is burn fat.

I hate to advertise, but if you're a DVD person, Mari Winsor has a pilates [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] that really, really works your butt and thighs. I've been using the DVD three times a week (it's only about 15-20 minutes) and within about two weeks I started seeing results I've never seen before. It's pretty fun! ^_^

wrong. certain cardio exercises work muscles and tone them better. i find cardio exercises like the stairmaster and the stationary bike work the legs and butt really well.

but squats, leg press, lunges, etc. will work that area and help tighten stuff up.
