Tattoo question

I got my tattoo done on December 20th and it ended up healing really well. I'm going to an indoor waterpark with my family for the weekend, so would it be okay for me to go swimming? Or should I stay out of the water? I completely forgot about the tattoo when I heard we were going.

you'll be fine, if its not fully healed, still puffy and some new scabbing then the chlorine can dry it out a bit, but your tat should be fairly well off, just remember to wash with gentle soap afterward and apply the a&d ointment or whatever you use.

I was always told to stay out of water, particularly chlorinated water for 3-6 months at least. Showers were okay, but sitting in water was not.

Chlorine is a killer on tattoo colours and definition (I had to eventually get mine redone as I was a very frequent swimmer for many years), and when the ink is still "setting" it is far worse.

Where is the tattoo? Is it possible to be able to put something over it?
On my chest. I guess I could always wear a shirt, but I don't know if that would help much or not.

probably not, like Ray Kay said, its a killer.. Personally i swam a month or two after my tat, when it stopped scabbing, i can't say it made much effect on the colors but i wasnt an avid swimmer either.
So its a "do at your own risk" type of thing.

i wouldn't recommend going. but if you feel that it's fully healed, why not? dec 20th is barely 4 weeks. but i started working out a week after i got my full back piece. sure, it itched, but it didn't get infected or anything. i think dirty sweat would be worse than chlorinated water.
