Very strange acne???
I'm just wondering if this is something I should be concerned about. Recently I've been having some VERY strange acne symptoms. I think it's acne, but I've had acne all my life and these pimples seem NOTHING like regular acne.
I first had one on my upper lip, right under my nose. It was very small, but it hurt. The small pimple was driving me crazy, so I popped it. It was oozing clear liquid for a few hours and it burned. Then, after about a day the whole area turned bright red. I never saw anything like it before. It was red like this for a few days and then turned into a huge scab! The scab fell off after about a week since this happened, and then the area got really dry and started to flake...like a sunburn. Well, it eventually went away, but another one soon popped up on my left cheek. Same thing happened. Now the strangest of all...there are three of these things that just popped up in a tringular formation on my leg, about 6 inches from my knee cap. What in the world could this be? And do you think I should I be concerned about? |

If it wasn't for the diverse locations of the spots, I'd say this is more like herpes simplex than acne, esp. since the fluid inside is clear and it later on forms a scab. But I have no experience with either acne or herpes myself, nor am I a doctor. Please consult a doctor before getting scared more. Maybe it's an allergy, maybe an infection, even a doctor online wouldn't be able to properly diagnose you if he didn't see you in person.
So please go to a doctor. Take care, arwen

It's most likely herpes. I have several friends who have it. You'd be surprised how many people have it. Statistically I've heard 70% of the population has it. Be extremely careful to not touch your face and then touch yourself "down there." You can transfer oral herpes to genital herpes this way. Also, if you makeout with someone or give them oral sex with an active sore you will give them herpes. It spreads by physical contact, it's very easy to give to someone else.
The oozing stuff is what spreads the sores, that's why when you popped it, it spread. Don't touch your face, wash your hands regularly throughout the day with hot water and soap. Be careful not to come into contact with people, like I said skin to skin contact spreads herpes, doesn't have to be sexual contact. There's over the counter cream that can help treat it, it's about $30. Also, what my friend does in her relationship to help not give her partner herpes, they obviously use condoms and he showers after every time. Soap and water can prevent a lot of bad things! Hope this helps! |
