Getting blood test for Acne but will it pick up drugs?

Ive been told that i have to get a blood test to go on an accutane treatment for me acne. But as i regularly smoke cannabis will it show up in the blood test, if it does will my parents have to be told? As im only 16. Just a little paranoid that it could effect it.

Cheers

I don't think they care about that kind of thing in the UK do they? It's pretty liberal.
I think they have to be actually specifically testing for pot to find it - which they aren't so...
If it's in the next 30 days then there isn't a whole lot you can do about it anyway - it's stay in the blood that long.

If they are only searching through the blood for cures for acne, that's all that they're going to look for. So, don't be worrying at all!

Also, if they find traces of it, I don't they're going to say anything.

they are most likely checking other things in your blood to see if Accutane is messing up your normal blood chemistry, so they won't be looking for drugs, unless you agree to a specific blood test to test for drugs... one usually has to sign a waiver for that type of drug test, though i'm not sure where you live or whether parents have rights to do that behind your back if you're a minor...

but it's nothing the doctor would order unless there was a reason to or legally it is something your parents could ask the doctor to screen for.

I work in a lab with blood.
It would take a specific test to find THC, and they'd have no reason to look for it.

They are checking your liver enzyme levels. One of the risks of accutane is liver damage and so they take your blood to monitor that. They don't do a tox screen which is what they would have to do to detect THC.

You're paranoid from smoking cannabis.
Asking if a blood test will show smoking cannabis doe not make someone paranoid, well, no more paranoid than any other persom. That's also something that is extremely judgmental to say, and I don't think the OP would appreciate it...

It would come up on a blood test, but if you are 16 I don't think they can say anything to your parents about it. When I had blood tests taken they have never mentioned anything and I am also a frequent weed smoker. Also I don't think they can mention it unless its A) What the specific test was for or B) if its affecting your Acne.

I don't think they mention it much now also, because it's not actually illegal. Whereas if you had smoked a ton of crack they might mention it... But thats a different story

Good luck on your blood test btw

It won't show up in a bloodtest that is not specifically screening for this.

they will not test for weed. they only test if the blood is thinned out. there are different tests for different things in blood.
