Computer Literacy on Resume

Hello,
I'm working on my resume and I want to get your opinions when it comes to computer literacy definitions.

I'm confused about "proficient with", "versed in", and "working knowledge of".

Do I have to be an expert in a program to say I'm proficient with it or versed in it? By expert, I mean, know how to do every single thing the program does.

I would guess that working knowledge of a program means that I am not an expert in it but I know how to use the program because I have lots of experience with it.

What do you think?

Thanks

They all mean pretty much the same thing to me.

No you don't. If you're an expert, I'd list "expert" in your resume. Proficient means (to me) that you would be comfortable using whatever program to achieve any task assigned to you.

I have to read through quite a few resumes in my position and the way i tend to read it is as follows

proficient : you know much more than the average user, usually have been working with the program for quite sometime and probably know some tricks and tips most don't

versed in: you know the program well, but not by heart. you may need to refresh you memory on some of the more tricky aspects of it

working knowledge : you know enough to use most of the common and frequently used functions but may need help with some things occasionally.

on a side note, if you are talking about industry specific software, definatley say so in your resume somewhere. (i.e. Avimark for veterinary professionals, photoshop if you are talking graphic design)
