I miss my nan.
I miss my nan so much.
She died in 2004, and it's like it happened yesterday. I felt that she was the only one who loved me. Who gave a damn. She was there for me when I needed someone. Regardless of her kidney failure, she was still there for me. She hugged me when I was down, kissed me and turned my frown upside down. I made her these cup of teas, and she always said to me 'you make the best cuppa's ever' I miss her so much. I miss her hugs, her kisses, her voice, ... her all together. I want her back. I'm not even over it. It's been three years and I still sometimes... sometimes think 'maybe she's just on a very long holiday'... Maybe ... just maybe. I want her back. So much. Sorry. Just ... wanted to get it out. Since she's been gone, so much has changed. Not for the better either.

I lost my dad in early 1999 (when I was 16). I empathize about loosing someone close to you.
It took me years to get over it... |

Hi Sarey,
It's very sweet that you loved your nan so much and that you still miss her. My pa (grandpa) passed 20 years ago and some days it still feels like yesterday. ((HUGS)) She still knows you love her so much, and you probably feel her because she's still around you.

Hi Sarey
I lost my nan when I was 16 and I was devastated for a few years about it. It hurt very badly. Especially when grannies are so great! I still miss mine. But you will recover from it. And she knew that you loved her and she loved you, and that is a great thing. Loving people gives us more empathy - I bet you have more empathy for older people than someone who didn't have the benefit of such a good relationship with a grandparent. It's part of what makes you such a sensitive and smart girl. Huggles

My nan cammed to life with me after I finished my studies, well she was like a mom and a friend to me, the food she made was the best. She never traveled in her life it was in 2004 I asked her if she wanted to have a trip to the UK with me. We spent two weeks just traveling and looking at every thing, it was like it was yesterday I can still see her and the way she smiled when I wanted a hug or a kiss.
She died last year and I do miss her allot. But like she aways said : We all have to go no mater what your time is your time. Well when I hear her say those words I know she is in heaven.

Don't memories like that make you smile even if just for a minute? Have you thought about doing some volunteering at a local nursing home or long term care facility? I'll bet there are lots of grannies who'd love to spend time with you. You can play cards with them, just talk, spend time with them. It might bring some happiness to both your lives.

Do you have any such centers near your home or a bus ride away? I'll tell you what- I am a nurse and I work with a lot of senior citizens and they are some of the smartest, funniest, most honest, kindest, most engaging people I know. I really feel like my life is enriched by knowing them. I bet you'd feel the same way.
