Why yes I do. Your doctor will probably prescribe some good ones, but until then, make sure you get some that have between 600 and 1000 mcg of folic acid per day, and 27 to 60 mg of iron. It will tell you on the label how much. Your doctor will do blood tests to tell you if you're anemic or not, which would require more iron, but don't take more until you know that. Folic acid is most important though, especially in the beginning.

I took 300 mg a day of DHA suppliments, which you can get from flaxseed i think or fish oil. I think the name is Omega-3 fatty acids, that's what you need.

I also took calcium, which you should get about 1,000 mg per day.

Good luck!

Interestingly, Omega-3 fatty acids are recently recommended. We didn't know about the importance of Omega-3 fatty acids when we were babies. So left out, makes me wonder if my IQ would go up if I had those fortified milk formulas.

Folate, B12, and Iron mainly.

Pregnant mothers need this to prevent babies & mother from deficiencies.
Luckily nowadays, doctors all recommend them. So it's advisable that the poster should go to a doctor for further recommendation.

btw, you can get it from food. So it's possible your mother got these vitamin purely from food. Most diets don't have sufficient enough of these vitamins though, unless they formulate a diet with these vitamins in mind.

Lots of times you need additional calcium supplements. And the DHA is also not included in the prenatal pill, most times.

I took prenate elite (prescribed) and I liked it.

Got Supplements?

Thank you for all the advice. We decided to get a prenatal multivitamin/multimiral supplement called Stuart Prenatal. It's got everything except DHA/omega-3. We are going to see if we could see a doctor soon before my 11th week appointment to ask about stuarts.

I've been doing research online regarding this brand, and so far the consumer reviews have been great. Nothing bad about this brand so far. I take my first tablet tomorrow morning, since it's a bit late at night right now.

If any of you or anyone you know have taken Stuarts Prenatal before, do let me know how that go.

Thank you so much for you time

Lilu
