chubby, not fat. and hard to lose weight

ive been doing exercises everyday. i do dances. i concentrate on my tummy alot i do sit ups everyday. i see results on my tummy but i have problem areas with my arms. i hate my arms. i hv no confidence in wearing short sleeve or sleeveless. i do this exercise where i put my two arms behind my body on the bed n sit up n down, and i do push ups against the wall in the toilet during shower. i eat normally. i chose to eat watever i want, but in less portion, and be abit picky.. but its alrdy the 2nd mth and i do not see much result... im so disapointed. i expected more than this. and all i see is a flatter tummy, curvier. my face smaller. my thighs just A BIT smaller.my damn arms are stil huge.. i just hate to take a full body pic of myself specially with hot looking friends.im so sad, i thought i would surprise my bf when he's back next sunday. but seeing me like this with not much difrences is just so disapointing. can u pls gv me some reasons why am i not losing much weight? ive started doing 1000 skips in a day last 1 or 2 weeks, but i do not feel any differences or feel better -.- ....im soooo mad...pls help me.. maybe i miss out doing something? or i did something wrong?

Well im not experienced in this department because i never exercise (Silly me.) But if you dont like your arms as much why not do some weights? Or do some dancing that uses the arms alot. Remember to have 5 of your 5 a day fruit or vegetables and drink plenty of water.

Do you know how many calories you are eating? It really haelps to include walking but you need to do about 30 min a day or more. You may be toning up which realyy helps because the greater muscle mass will burn more calories. I went on the alli pill, myalli.com, and it has increased my weight loss, but I eat very carefully. Some of us lose it slower and depending on your age also. The arms are the hardest to get rid of the extra on, but if you lose it overall it really will help. How much do you want to lose? 1-2 lbs a week is a good sustainable weight loss goal.
I have lost 17 lb but it has been 3 months.

Well, to be honest, if you notice a flatter stomach, skinnier face etc, I'd say you are doing well. I am chubby too and have been trying to lose it for 10 months. So far I lost 30 lbs 160 => 130 lbs. I'm 5'3

I jog 3.5 miles 6 days a week and free weights twice a week.

Can I tell a difference? definitely, is my stomach totally gone? Hell no, theres still a lot of fat left. It takes a long time to lose weight, you sound like you are losing some and noticing a difference which is good.

Maybe add more cardio ? How long are you doing cardio a day? And how much a week?

Losing weight is about 65% diet and 35% exercise. This number varies a bit from person to person, but you get the idea. While I do not recommend cutting down the exercise at all, I suggest you really focus on what you are eating. This will also have a huge impact on how you feel during the day, how good your workouts will be, and the calories you are putting into your system.

Your best bet is to see a nutritionist though as everyones needs are different.

Cardio is very good if you're trying to lose weight but don't forget strength training! Using weight is a good way to go if you want to focus on a specific area but pay attention to your posture when weight training. The thing about using weights is that even after you've stopped calories are still being burned by the muscle that did the work.

In my personal experience I spent almost two years training intensively (too much at times) and half of the work I did involved weight training. When I started I was underweight, by the end of that period I'd built of a decent amount of definition (and thankfully, weight), especially on the arms and even now that I've been stopped for over 4 months and lost much of that muscle, the definition is still there.

See if you can find some good info online about weight training to get some idea of what exercise you can do. Good luck!

Do you keep an exercise and diet journal?

Do you track your short term and long term goals?

It sounds like you are doing great, and only need to get more specific to zone in on why you are no longer making progress.

There are a lot of different ways to do this. It all depends on you and your particular info.

A generalized approach works in the beginning usually, but once you've lost some and your body gets used to exercising, it's time to kick it up a notch.
