is it possible to lose weight on the pill?

Yeah so the question says it all.
I've gained 10-15 lbs since I went on the pill and I've been exercising every day, and eating right for about a week. I haven't lost a pound though. If I got everything right, I should have lost at least one..

Is it impossible to lose weight while on a birth control pill or just harder than normal? I'm prepared for anything... I am NOT buying jeans of bigger size than I need... Grrrrr

Um. Get off the pill and ask your doctor for one that wont make you gain weight. I've only heard of the bc shot making girls gain that much weight. I never had a problem with the bc pill in gaining weight, but I think it be much harder to lose it when something is making your hormones change to make you gain weight. So change pills!! Maybe stay off birth control for a couple months before starting another one and excersize. And yes, there are some bc pills that make you lose weight! Maybe you have the wrong gyno or your not asking the right questions.

PeanutButter, I'm taking this pill for my complexion. My face is covered with acne when I'm not on the pill... So I'd rather work hard to have a good body.
Still, my current weight doesn't make me fat or anything. People say I look great, perfect even... but I loved being my normal weight and would love to go back to it.
If it comes to choosing my skin or my weight, I'm choosing my skin.

I'm on Diane-35. Ortho tri cyclen never did anything for me. I tried tons of brands.
Yes I am exercising, but I want to lose weight, not just tone up.

Is stationary bike cardio?
I was also reading some stuff on the internet and I seem to be coming across things like "burning 700 calories a day makes you gain weigh."
Eh? That's how much I burn and I don't feel tired AT ALL afterwards. Does that mean I'm not really burning that much?

I've never had a problem with gaining weight on the pill, and I've even lost weight (not intentionally) the last few months.

However, if you've only done a change of diet and exercise for a week, it's not that unusual to not see a drop in weight. You need to keep up with your regimen, weighing at the same time of day every week. A few years ago when I was intentionally losing weight, I'd get a week here and there that showed no weight loss, and then the next week I'd be down three pounds. So, don't give up and good luck!

One week certainly isn't enough to see change. You say you're not tired after you work out. What do you mean by that? If you mean that you feel good and energetic afterward, that's a good thing. Exercising will actually give you more energy. But if you mean that, while exercising, your heart rate does not increase significantly, then you should work harder in order to burn fat. Still, you definitely can lose weight while on the pill. Keep up the regime and see how the scales respond after a month. Good luck

I can't do it at the same time every day because of my job. Sometimes I do it in the morning, sometimes late at night.
