Question about facial hair

I shave almost every day and my hair grows back pretty fast. The only thing i keep is the hair on my lower lip which some call a soul patch. My question is why wont my soul patch grow.I mean i can grow a full beard in a week but my soul patch doesn't move.I wont it to grow cause i really like it should i shave what i have no and it may grow back longer or what.
