Arrow Facial scrubs/masks for oily or combination skin

Hey everyone
I was wondering if anyone had ever used a facial mask or scrub before for oily, acne-prone skin. I have some acne on my forehead and I get some pimples on my cheeks as well. I looked online at Bath & Body Works and The Body Shop to see what they have, but I have no idea what to try.. I'm looking for something less than $30 that can help me with acne without overdrying my skin. Any recommendations?

I was wondering also if anyone had ever tried any cleansers from the Murad line, or tea trea scrubs/masks.. If you've used them, did they work well?

Thanks!!

Hey Ellie, thanks for the quick reply!! I have just purchased a scrub and even though it says it's intended for daily use, my skin is definitely getting dry from it.. it has those little microbead thingies for exfoliation, that may have something to do with it..

its actually called 3 in 1 facial cleanser...lol

i have had not one issue since i have been using this stuff.

and i think i have heard the same thing that Elllie said about the exfoliating... not being good for problem skin.

I had oily skin as a teenager and found when I did too much, my skin overcompensated and produced more oil! So the less you do with your skin the better! Really, get a good plant based natural cleanser (as little chemicals as possible), Try Origins or Aveda.

Aloe vera is good on a spot/pimple! I picked some in Spain from a plant at the side of the road, and found my spots gone in the morning when I put it on my face.

Of course, usual drinking lots of water, avoid bad food - like french fries and Macdonalds, eat plenty of greens and salads.....

The good news is....it goes......and guess what - you get less lines...and wrinkles....yippee.......I'm Thank God for the oil in my teenage years now as I still get I.D'd!!

I just bought this clay mask from Oil of Olay for about $7. My skin is breaking out becaue I'm allergic to something in the air at work. Anyway it's really helping, and you can use up to 3 times a week.

i think scrubs are fine for breakout prone skin...not all the time, as goldfish says, skin might try to produce more oil and throw tantrums. but every other day or so seems to be ok.

st ives apricot scrub range is great - different ones for different skin types, and lancome does a good exfoliant specifically for oily/combination skin - with nice toners and moisturisers to follow it with (aqua fusion is lovely and light, but without drying - garnier does a similar one in a tube in the pure a range).
also i would recommend (does that have another c in it?) face masks with dead sea mud/minerals in - yum!

That's what I was going to recommend. I use Queen Helene's Mud Masque. It's "dirt" cheap (pun intended, lol) and you can pick it up at any drugstore. It's also made with no animal ingredients or testing.

You should also take a look at what you're eating, as certain foods can cause break-outs...especially sugary, processed, and fatty foods.

One of the best free tips I have EVER tried is honey - just smear honey all over your face, leave it on for about 20 minutes, shower it off (honey washes off really easily with water!) et voila, your skin is lovely and clear. Honey is a natural astringent, it's really good for you, and it's free if you have some runny honey in the cupboard!!

Please do give it a go, it's natural, easy, and your skin is lovely afterwards.

I love free home-made beauty therapy - they work so much better than the chemically stuff!!
