Help - lump/wart/cyst on bf penis

I recently started seeing this guy and this weekend we got initmate for the first time. We did not have full sex but did have oral sex and did not use a condom. It wasn't till the morning that I noticed he had a lump/cyst/wart like thing on the shaft of his penis near the head. There was just one and it was quite big (perahps the size of a pinky fingernail). I did not bring this up in conversation.

I've been searching the net and see that this could be herpes or genital warts. Any ideas what else it could be? I'm now very worried this could have been passed on to me. Do guys just get things randomly on their penises or does this usually mean an infection? I'm not very experienced and he knows this. He's a very responsible guy and does not seem the type to knowingly engage in activity with me knowing he had an infection...but hey who knows.

Should I bring this up with him? If so, how should I approach it?...and when is the best time to approach it (i.e. next time we start to get intimate?). Please help.

No guys don't randomly get those things. Thats usually the sign of some sort of STD. I would bring it up with him to see if he's been checked by a doctor.

Also I definitely would use a condom for any future intimate sessions regardless of what they involve until you both get the all clear from a doctor. Don't take chances with your sexual health.

this is one of those things you wont really find a good way to say.

just ask about it, tell him your are concerned of Stds, should be a problem and if it is.....

its a little to big to be genital warts, if its roundish its probably a cyst, but better safe then sorry.

Actually genital warts can be of a variety of shapes and sizes. Definitely tell him that you want him checked, for both your sakes.

a genital wart of that size would usualy mean a clump of small warts and it would be lumpy and ... well... gross i think she would have noticed.

in any event, defanently find out if he's seen a doctor about it and if not get it checked out, whatever it is, you have a right to know.

Actually, it could be a variety of things. It could even be a lump caused by cartilage, which has nothing to do with STDs or infections. (I have seen this before.) I don't know what it looks like, so I can't speculate. So, yeah, at this point, the only thing you can do is ask him about it.

Hard conversation, I know, so good luck!

I think you should go get tested in the meantime then. Some STD's are bacterial infections that caught early on, are completely curable.

Bringing it up is vital, so I would definitely ease it into the conversation.

It could be any number of things so be careful about assuming that it's an STI or that it's contageous. It could even be a scar.
