Nutrition Drinks

Hi all. I'm currently drinking nutrition shakes to build more body mass, so I've been lifting weights and that seems to be working fine. I also drink meal replacement drinks (but not actually replacing meals, just ON TOP of them) and I don't know if I should drink it before or after the gym. Or maybe both? Could anyone give some advice? Thanks?

When you eat your meals is as important as what you eat. To maximize the benefits of your workout, eat 2 - 3 hours before your workout, then shortly after again. Remember, the food you ingest is used to fuel your workout which is why the timing of your meals becomes important.

Good luck.

It depends on what kind of drinks it is. If it is an energy supplement then you drink it before the gym. If it is a protein drink, then you drink it after you work out. NEVER drink protein before you work out. Protein rebuilds your muscle's and it can cause you body harm if you use it while you work out. Good luck in lifting weights and stay strong!

meal replacement drinks should be done after you work out.... and same with protein shakes... after you work out your body starts to repair your muscle tissue and that's when it needs protein and minerals. For Pre-workout you should eat fruit for simple sugars, take multivitamins, and eat carbohydrates... and some protein before workout also wouldn't hurt.
