Teeth whitener -- suggestions?

Besides the ol' tooth paste and tooth brush, where are some products out there that can whiten your teeth? I tried those strips that you put over your teeth, but they are really uncomfortable and don't seem to work the way they should (meaning, they usually have a hard time fitting in my mouth). So I've kind of ditched those things after trying them a couple times.

Thanks.

I tried a few things without any change. I think the dentist is your best bet. Consumer guide pretty much discredited all the OTC methods.

Just don't overdo it, or you'll blind us here.

Like Dako said, your dentist is the best bet. I wanted to whiten mine also and have had excellent results with my dentist. My teeth weren't bad at all, I just wanted that "Clean and White" look. After only 3 treatments, they were so white. Some people need to do it for a week or 2, it depends on what your teeth look like.

It was $175 for the top and $175 for the bottom. They make a mold and you put the solution in it and wear it for a 1/2 an hour twice daily. Now I just whiten them again after the every 6 month cleaning. I'm so glad I saved the money and did it. Everyone I meet comments on how white my teeth are.
Save money and go for it.

I used one OTC one that worked ok. It came with a mouth guard and a peroide type solution that I think dentists use I try to find the name.

i talked with my dentist today about this.

1st option is lazer treatmant.............$500 includes lazer treatmant(you go home with white teeth in 1 hour) also includes the mouth piece kit and the stuff.

2nd option...............the mouth piece kit. she said $215. i belive that is for the top and bottom........im not 100% sure.

my teeth arent bad. i am a smoker.i drink coffee. two of the worst things for your teeth. im going to do the lazer treatmant. i like the idea of one hour and white teeth and the results are supposed to be very very good.

I agree that the dentist is probably my best bet, but I only see the dentist twice a year. I've actually got an appointment in about 3 weeks.

How often do you guys visit the dentist? Is bi-anually considered normal? Below normal? I've never been too focused on dental hygeine, but I try to brush regularly.

Hey, do you know how long both of those options last for until it's needed to be done again?

Anyway, I've been using just whitening tooth paste and whitening gum which seems to work really well, and I'm a heavy coffee drinker. But some people have teeth that are just so white, like they're translucent if that makes any sense... I think laser is a good idea, and things along those lines.

Laser seems like an expensive option, I'd go with the other one, since you'll have to get it redone every now and then..
