Post Some healthy food recipes? (High fibres, proteins etc.)

Hello all!

I just moved out for 6 weeks and I want to learn some healthy food recipes.. I'm going to the gym 6 times a week so I need something to support that schedule, I just bought some baby carrots, celery hearts, broccoli, and some high fibre cereal, 1% milk, oatmeal cookies.. I want to lose fat also.. And I don't really have much means of cooking (I have a microwave) I have an oven but I don't have any pans etc. I can buy a pan as a last resort. Is there any dipping recipes for the vegetables that are healthy that you know the recipes? or other than that what recipes do you guys have? (I can buy the ingredients) Thanks

A little bit of butter( low in saturated fats perhaps) with sauteed garlic in it, may be just the thing for the broccoli.

Hi Q10,

Although I am not in the shape that I want to be, I have done a lot of studying on the subject. By the way, round is a shape. lol Obviously, all healthy foods are good, but it also depends on your sex, age, and what you are trying to accomplish. You can almost never go wrong with protein. I guess that would entail cooking, but you can pick up a cheap pan at the store and even use plastic utensils. I love the store bought egg whites because they are so low in calories, but have a lot of protein. Chicken and fish are always good. As I said, it depends on your body type. If you are on the thinner side and have a high metabolism, then you can eat a lot more carbs than me. I have recently started eating some really good organic, high figer cereal with a lot of protein. I drink soy milk and it is actually really good with cereal. You can subsitute with protein drinks, but real food is always better. You definitely can not go wrong with broccoli, it is like the best vegetable. Carrots are high in carbs so becareful, if you are looking to reduce your carbs. Also, make sure you do not work out too much. If you work out too much, then you will burn all of your muscle. Like I said, I dont' know your sex or age or body type. Make sure that you eat with in 30-45 minutes of your work out. Ok, sorry for the rambling and not giving any recipes. I don't know enough. Eat lots of veggies, protein and fiber. Oh, and alcohol will hurt a lot. That is why I am 15 pounds over weight. lol

lol thanks alot ocrob, yeah I'm 20 male and what I'm trying to accomplish is lower my fat percentage and lose the fat I have (belly!). What do you mean store bought egg whites, so it's not the whole egg but just the white extracted? I think my metabolism is not that high. I don't think I'm over training, I got a program made by a body builder friend and I trust him with that. I don't want to waste money on protein drinks and I think real food is always better also. I already have plastic utensils, I'm thinking of buying one of those aluminium plates, I can use them as a pan, am I wrong.. And yeah I don't drink a lot of alcohol, just like a couple coolers per 1 or 2 months (around 4-5 coolers).. I try to drink lots of water and milk right now.

Cans of tuna. Eat it right out of the can and drink the water. All the protein you need.
